Hi Jim,You should be proud! She seems to have already attracted the attention of a British teacher with that video! Seems like your daughter and I have some overlapping research interests, could you ask her how I could get in touch? Is she on this platform for example?
Hearing about expansion of global gag rule - not just no abortion, but also no DEI (aka "Discriminatory Equity Ideology"] - to any recipents of US Foreign Assistance.
Here are some thoughts on resilience. Thanks to Emergency Services Times for asking me to contribute.

I've used Lavaan almost every (work)day for 15 years, but this open source labour of love has never received proper institutional support. I'm delighted to be a small part of an 1.5M OpenScienceNL award, led by Jorgensen, to completely revamp and futureproof Lavaan www.openscience.nl/en/news/45-p...
The next chance for the Supreme Court to rule that these kind of tariffs are illegal and that the law Trump is using was never meant for this kind of thing will be on Tuesday, when the justices said new decisions will be announced.
Part of the British strategy for managing Trump was to play nice and get first in line to make a trade deal that minimizes the economic damage. It worked - for a while. They ended up with a better rate than many. But now they’re facing 25% tariffs anyway because of Trump’s desire to buy Greenland.
Dangerous new step in Trump's deranged pursuit of Greenland: economic punishment of allies to coerce Denmark into selling Greenland—on demonstrably spurious grounds. The president is lying: US missile defence can function perfectly w/out US ownership of Greenland. It has done for decades.
Another spin on the tariff merry-go-round, is it? If we have to pay them to stand up for allies, perhaps we should? Perhaps he'll recall that the highest per cap death rate when the US asked for help under Art 5 was from Denmark! Will voters get sick of higher prices?

Hi! yes, I may have a couple of recommendations: 1 within your page count but a longer time frame www.penguin.co.uk/books/53726/...
2: a longer page count but within your time frame www.bloomsbury.com/uk/we-dont-k... NB I am British
A hands holding a sign with a heart coloured in blue and yellow as the Ukrainian flag.
Disability in Ukraine has grown due to injuries, violence, and trauma. Many face extreme risks from inaccessible evacuations to disrupted essential services.
Read EUobserver on how they are coping as refugees and why inclusive humanitarian aid is urgent euobserver.com/news/ar56b7c...
I call on my party and my government to remove themselves entirely from X and communicate with the public where they actually participate online and can be protected from such illegality.
If Herr Merz can get the Germans approved (by fax allegedly) can you get the British Government on here? And yourself no less, Prime Minister!? Much obliged. On behalf of people who want nothing to do with X, not least because of AI generated CAM/ non-consensual images etc.

This study of US disabled children and their parents after a wildfire shows some general trauma but also suggests it can be exacerbated by unmet disability specific needs such as mobility aids and accessible evacuation sites. Common to adults too. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... People with hearing loss, from US & Aus report stress, fear and perceived helplessness, as well as inaccessibility of emergency alert system, and a reliance on hearing neighbours. Helpful advice list for emergency service members.
I have seen significant media coverage of the devastating bushfires in Vic, Aus. I can't help but think of the difficulties disabled Australians must be facing as they try to evacuate. I'll share some recent findings on the mental health impacts of wildfires on disabled people below (not mine). 1/n
The mission of Coventry Cathedral is an enduring symbol of 🇬🇧🇩🇪 reconciliation.
President Steinmeier was greeted there by HRH The Duke of Kent and laid a wreath in an act of solidarity and remembrance.
This was followed by a service conducted by Bishop Jelley and Dean Witcombe.
You and Dr Montano always complaining about FEMA being inside DHS! Well, this just proves it it's better that way. Yes, don't worry I'm being sarcastic, you know we Brits can't help it. :-)
What is the impact of #disasters on #ClimateAdaptation in cities? This study by Daniel Nohrstedt, @charlesparker.bsky.social & others at @cndsofficial.bsky.social finds the effects of disasters are limited & depend on action type, city size & adaptive capacity.

@boldpolitics.bsky.social @zackpolanski.bsky.social Regarding your recent conversation with Rory Stewart and Campbell asking who we are serious economist friends are, I think perhaps Prof Hickel would count, alongside Tim Jackson, both have thousands of citations and the requisite advanced degrees!
"the episode itself lasted no more than an instant–a gunshot, say–but the traumatised mind holds on to that moment, preventing it from slipping back into its proper chronological place in the past, & relives it over and over again in the compulsive musings of the day & the seething dreams of night."
One & done. Good luck to your student!
Dear, Baroness @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social, I know you care deeply about pesticides, so may have already seen this. I'm not a biologist, but this goes against the norms of publication ethics, for sure. According to the Editor's retraction notice, the conclusions themselves may be invalid.

It is with profound sadness I heard that my long-time friend and colleague, John Fox passed away this week.
He was the author of {car}, {effects}, {Rcmdr}, ... and numerous influential books. I will miss him greatly.

£30k now. And I think it's only been open for a couple of hours. He said we would come! Reminds me of what @rachelmillward.bsky.social said about the power of fivers at conference. I will be contributing one of my own ASAP.
Okay, but as a certain gentleman we both admire might say: "we pushed them this far (i.e. mansion tax, two child benefit cap removal, now let's push them off the stage" Don't you think?
So Sir John doesn't understand the difference between an amount and proportion? I can recommend some excellent resources on intro stats! Then you get namechecked by Ms Reeves for growing our membership. (She misspoke right???) Seem to be seeing you everywhere lately @zackpolanski.bsky.social!
