Been living this reality with my partner since November 2024. His leg is saved (so far as now), but he's alive at all by a factor of inches.
This story, from @natezuke.bsky.social, is absolutely wild. A trans woman who never changed her gender marker was issued a letter invalidating her license. At the DMV they cut up her license, which had an "M" marker.

A grey coloured eastern screech owl, sitting in their hole in their tree in the bright winter sun, their eyes closed in apparent contentment. The owl is quite small, with small tufts of feathers on their head that look like ears, and remarkably bark-like mottled plumage. Their feathers are fluffed up in the cold so that they look almost spherical.

We had two feral grey boy kittens living on our deck and Fen loved to play with them through the screen door and when she was out on a leash. They sadly disappeared, and she really seemed like she missed them and wanted another cat to play with. So I got a grey boy kitten...aaaand she hates him.
I am so jealous that they took to each other like this (of course happy for you that they did). The kitten I brought home was "the wrong one" according to First Cat and they're only barely beginning to tolerate each other two and a half years later.

If you're seeing an internet-wide pile-on on someone, it often has come after many months or years of others trying to reach that someone in private, in person, in gentler public call-in ways that you maybe haven't seen, and instead of listening the someone continues to double-down and get worse.
When I saw this at a glance I worried I was about to see an obituary. Emin is an artist who fascinated me early in my art life and she's lived in my head ever since. Glad to see her surviving and I find having contradictory feelings about her makes me appreciate her even more.
