Ooo. What did you put out for them? We've got loads near us, but they never quite venture into our garden. Always looking for something to tempt them in!
I have rarely identified with anything more in my life.
Oh, I loved that one. I hadn't considered the audiobook, I bet that one in particular would be excellent.
Honestly, I can't recommend it enough! Hope you get a chance to pick it up!

Werner Herzog relating an anecdote: "There were some filmmakers speaking in an auditorium like this one about how documentaries should be made, how we should be like a fly on the wall and not interfere. And I just couldn't take it anymore so I grabbed the mic and said No! We are creators, we should be the hornets that sting. There was a roar of disgust against me. So I shouted: "Happy New Year, losers!"
Happy Werner Herzog anecdote day!
I think maybe the ancient giant egg might be a good thing, personally. Who do we have to talk to about getting it in a massive incubator?
I'd have one muttered "fuckin' hell" in the background when Bilbo disappears at his 111th birthday party.
A shot of a Christmas dinner, table with plates, crackers, roast beef, and a fat man's belly ready to eat it all.
The obligatory Christmas dinner table shot. Note the two different shades of beef, for kids and adults, as requested.

Alrighty, who got #MesozoicArtII for Christmas? @sharkbitesteve.bsky.social and I hope you enjoy it :)
People don't need to go to film school, you could just watch Jaws over and over again.
I didn't, but picked up 1 from @sharkbitesteve.bsky.social himself at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social and having followed for years, was a bit starstruck and probably seemed a bit dozy. Absolutely love it. 2 will be on the shopping list for the New Year!
I don't know, I don't really feel like jingling ALL the way, man. It's really far. You've only got one horse on this sleigh, and it's raining.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: Learning from Stoppard By Mike Fitzgerald, June 13, 2016 Comparing two drafts of a script can be hugely instructive, revealing point-by-point how a writer went about improving the story. When I stumbled upon an earlier draft of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, I discovered a dazzling, glittering trove of lessons as nourishing as eternal life itself. Well, nearly so. Last Crusade was written by Jeffrey Boam, from a story by George Lucas and Menno Meyjes. So say the opening credits. Boamβs final draft, dated March 1, 1988 (ten weeks before production) differs drastically from the published script which reflects the released version of the film. Differences come as no shock, but with Last Crusade they arenβt just a few deleted scenes and some line changes. Whole sections of the Boam draft were reimagined, major set pieces were added, and the pacing and tone were markedly transformed. Whoever made these changes possessed a profound grasp of story craft. Nine years ago Mike Fitzgerald wrote up an extraordinarily fascinating breakdown of the differences between the Tom Stoppard shooting script and the original Jeffrey Boam draft of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.

A great time at #thoughtbubble, first time with the family as a non-exhibitor. So much great stuff!
I managed to find a copy of this in a charity shop and felt very lucky! I didn't know anything about it.
Mine is there's no such thing as train WiFi. But trying to get it to connect distracts you from how shit the service is.
Troubling trend: rise in safeguarding alerts over teens' use of Captain Tom chatbot - the AI simulation of the famed perambulating veteran can answer teens' questions for a few moments before going mostly silent, occasionally repeating 'Burma.'
I want this. How do I do this.
This looks great so far, it's remarkable what you've managed to do, thank you for your work on it!

Back in 2020, I wrote a piece on The Night of the Hunter that I'm really proud of and has, unfortunately, stayed relevant (so much so that I wrote about it AGAIN in my new book, which I'm also very proud of π).

Iβm distracting myself with Patrick OβBrian books.
This means Iβve finally committed to learning all the bizarre maritime terms for βdifferent bits of sailing ships.
Which means Iβm spending a lot of time poring over naval diagrams.
