Temu and AliExpress are all over this. Nobody real leaves a review for eg. screws or hinges or ethernet couplers.

They gave it the highest rating for "Modern relevance" (Hot gates of Thermopylae got the lowest)
Think you are letting them off lightly after their acclaimed "top global strategic choke points" series.
Doubly backwards because it actually uses the enforcement mechanisms it has in the second case to try and do the impossible thing in the first.
I just think this one is incredibly backwards, because there are so few loci of distribution. I can try and change the behaviour of millions of children with no enforcement mechanism, or a handful of companies I can put out of business in my territory.
Citizen, you don't know the height of the London eye as per the citizenship test? To the mines.
Plus speaking for the UK the security we require is much less because there are no guns. In Manchester they had a security door only, which was able to save all but one person (another was killed accidentally by police marksmen.) The police were only shooting because he had a fake suicide vest.
Narratively having Ever Given getting stuck in 2021 to set up Hormuz in 2026 is great foreshadowing. You want your audience to understand the basics of international shipping in a lower stakes context so you drop the real plot without a lot of saggy exposition about the minutiae of cargo logistics.
I reckon (not an expert, just spitballing) you need a decent number at any one time, but then also a big decentralised fleet of like 3d printers and assembly workshops.
Sounds like the Belgians have figured that out.
The thing is, I was listening to a long interview with a Ukrainian who knew what he was talking about and they are obsolete in six months. I think the thing is to have the ability to make new things quickly is the real capability, rather than developing a fleet that will quickly be old.
I was stoked because I could make this one but now I am at the resolve poverty conference in Manchester instead. ๐ Hope everyone has fun will catch one soon!
Hah! You'd be quiet too if you'd been redirected 200 times.
Ah, the Nathan Bedford Forrest theory of posting. Get there "fustest with the mostes"
Yeah let's not fail to be inclusive. Many penguins left their eggs behind to set things right.
100% thought the same.
I think they just dusted off the "If war with Iran" file that's always existed and hawkish members of the military/political elite have always wanted to do. To be fair, all their short and mid term goals are going great, another Israeli generation has humbled rival militaries. Long term....
Oh also Bibi must be loving the fact that really the US is catching all the heat for this in the West. If Israel was solely responsible for a conflict that closed Hormuz it wouldn't go on for long.
Let's not forget how trained Red squirrels recovered the Falklands.
I will happily be corrected by people who understand Israeli politics properly here, but that was my read
I think there are at least two things "if Iran collapses into civil war or something, or is just totally defanged, that removes a geopolitical threat to our security" officially, but "keep the public thinking about immediate threats until the October elections to save Likud & Bibi" unofficially
"Release the sausages!"
He comes *quite* close to that in the radio interview from the time surprisingly.
Facebook marketplace is like my single use case now.
A great article badly in need of an editor.
Mad how they think the road to No 10 for them requires them to make the PM unpopular. Like have you seen the polls?
Deep in their own lore. That will bring in the new voters!
So I went to book this looked in my calendar and discovered I already brought tickets last time you promoted it!
We had the same thought but Sausages? I don't get it?
