This! This is why you should never feel ashamed to reshare your own artwork.
We're not content farms, we're people making artwork.
Our art is worth more than a scrolling glance. Share it more than once.
Anyone who gets annoyed isn't here to appreciate art, they're here for content.
ah fuck that's me, sorry.
Basic income and universal healthcare for all. Forgive student loan debt. Take the boot off American necks.

This is exactly what marketing yourself on social media feels like, actually.
Digital illustration of the heroic goose from Untitled Goose Game. Goose is all white with orange feet and beak and everything is rendered in flat simple shapes. Goose is standing next to a stream with greenery and blue sky behind, proudly holding the coveted shiny bell in his beak. Handwritten lettering in the sky reads βMaybe it will happen today.β
I sign off on this except I wanna clarify one thing: this is not "human nature," this is specifically how authoritarians feel. like, in the Bob Altemeyer, "high right-wing authoritarian score" sense: the desire to be "the norm" is an authoritarian impulse not everyone feels equally.
A digital illustration of five cans conversation hearts. Not the really cruddy chalky ones but the better ones with nice raised lettering. They are in five different pastel colors (pink, green, yellow, purple, red) and have one word each on them reading βMAYBE IT WILL HAPPEN 2DAYβ
Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.
Not a free pass for corporate-owned slop engines.
BTW when I say abolish ICE, I mean abolish it entirely and replace it with exactly nothing. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. That's it.
This interview is very funny. www.thenation.com/article/soci...
I think people underestimate how big this is. Like a city-wide strike is not something that has happened in the US for nearly 100 years
Frodo: I wish so much unbelievably stupid shit had not happened in my time Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. This is all exceptionally stupid, though
Take 3 minutes today and go do this. Read the answers carefully (as they try to be sneaky with a few of them).
For the record: Fuck AI.
when I was in college, a part of our university's graduation requirements had a community service component that they called service learning. one of my service learning classes involved work at a local homerless community center, helping people write resumes and cleaning bathrooms. our instructor told us to expect to see the bathrooms trashed a lot - like you will clean the bathroom and immediately someone will wreck it.
and it's not because they disrespect your work or don't value having access to clean bathrooms or whatever, but because of control. when you feel like you have no control over your life or your environment, your brain is going to want to assert control however it can. which results in thrashed bathrooms. it's control exercised over one small part of your environment that you still have the power to affect.
i see kids on tumblr using the language of social justice as cudgels on people who actually do care about and listen to them. or holding the creators within their own communities to an impossibly high standard that they never apply to mainstream media properties.
i just see thrashed bathrooms. 'These are the people my voice actually reach,' they rationalize, 'so these are the people I'll hurt'. but the guiding principles of social justice are aimed at correcting and dismantling systems. stop using them to dismantle people.

The SNAP requirements are ridiculous and the amount of aid much too low. I don't care about "waste, fraud, and abuse" because I would like much more aid going to recipients, since the goal is to help people be adequately nourished. UBI for the win, also.
Despite threats, billionaires don't leave the largest population centers, because it's where there is the most money to be had from the collective value generated by human beings, and despite what they insist, they don't generate wealth; they collect it.

Disney needs an ironic take on everything because a fairy tale played straight is dumb or cringe or whatever. Maleficent can't just be a mommy devil she has to be an SA victim.
βοΈLoreβοΈis best left in the margins or the underdrawing of a painting. You can vaguely see its form but it's intangible.
I am begging you. Please learn about stress/discomfort tolerance. Practice raising it. You need this to survive. If someone online can ruin your day with a throwaway comment, you desperately need to understand discomfort tolerance and consciously, systematically build that shit. Also! Stress tolerance is such an important skill that having a learning disability in that area is a major symptom of a whole lot of other disabilities/mental illnesses! Struggling with it is a huge part of life! It sucks! Am I saying everyone with misophonia needs to listen to chewing noises all day? No. But you need to find ways to tolerate it enough that you don't treat others like shit if they make a mouth noise near you. No, you don't have to read the fic with your trigger tags. But you do need to be able to handle scrolling past the tags without being upset. It is hard! But not having it also makes you so so so easy to manipulate. That grandma is racist AF because her mom raised her to be uncomfortable around black people and she never fought that discomfort. Trans people make so many cis people uncomfortable and that discomfort turns into bigotry real fast. Letting your discomfort dictate your actions and beliefs about things is a great way to become a terrible person. Learn. Discomfort. Tolerance.
Important shit that Iβm still trying to learn.

The Difference Between Being Broke and Being Poor (2018)
It's not about what this country can or canβt afford. Itβs about priorities. [Cartoon by Jesse Duquette]
Marc Lobliner post on X: "Why the hell are we giving food stamps to 40 million people? Does anyone work anymore?"
SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.
Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:
* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled
* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employedβbut in jobs that pay poverty wages
For me argentina is the easiest one because there's 40 million people on SNAP and we're giving milei 40 billion. "The president could give every hungry family a thousand dollars right now but he's giving it to argentina instead for no reason at all. He hates america"
It's all about rich white people who don't want merit based anything
