Everything shared here is rooted in the Constitution and nonviolent civic resistance. This is about restoring democratic norms. Withdrawal of consent means refusing unlawful abuses of power, peacefully. That’s how free people protect democracy.

I appreciate your response. The constitution is clear, declarations of war rests with Congress not the president. And our military swore an oath to the Constitution, not to one man who wants to usurp that war power. In this case, the military leaders violated their oath to defend the constitution.

Who is the military leader who agreed to initiate an illegal war with Iran without first requiring the president to obtain authorization from Congress?

Admiral Brad Cooper is the CENTCOM commander responsible for U.S. military operations in the Middle East.

One of the most important questions I haven’t heard anyone ask is this:
Which military generals agreed to initiate an illegal war without first insisting that the president obtain authorization from Congress?

The unconscionable and illegal actions taken by the U.S. government are shameful but that shame does not belong to everyone. It belongs to those ordering, enabling, and submitting to them.

The task now is to channel our anger into constructive action that helps the country move through this moment.

Trump’s fascist FCC had this interview with Rep. James Talarico pulled from the airwaves. Colbert posted it to Youtube. It's a must watch.

I wonder what will happen if/when a critical mass realize it isn't the immigrants stealing everyone’s cookies. Historically, that looked like pitchforks. But Fox “News” has done a very good job keeping that at bay. At least for now.

The president cannot:
• Make laws
• Declare war
• Control elections
• Run the civil service like a CEO
• Ignore court orders
• Stay in office without elections
• Decide which laws apply to them
• Use the military for domestic political control

Those were king powers, and the framers rejected them.

Democracy is broken in the United States because campaigns are privately financed, not publicly funded.

And what many in the lower classes could not get through democracy, they’re ignorantly attempting to get through autocracy.

Unfortunately, for all of us the autocrats are also the oligarchs. 🇺🇸

The poverty situation in America is worse today than ever. It’s where most Americans are in the distribution of wealth.

The regime is trying to frame the Minneapolis protests as a foreign-style insurgency, false propaganda. Citizens are using lawful, collective, and protective means to defend their communities in the face of militarized policing, community disruption, and civilian death, just like a foreign invasion.

Either the people will use their constitutional rights and democracy to win the struggle against the oligarchy, or the oligarchy in fear of the people will destroy the constitution and democracy. 🇺🇸

The Constitution does not give the president CEO-style authority over the civil service. Article II requires the president to execute laws written by Congress, including laws that structure agencies, and protect career officials. Congress’s Article I power creates offices and set terms. Impeach.🇺🇸

The regime will be digging in but their escalation will work against them as long as people continue responding with organized civil disobedience and resistance. Their violence is unsustainable because this regime is one of the most unpopular in all history.

Why did engagement drop for this post?

Because once you see the boomerang clearly, you don’t get to throw it anymore, and you don’t get to pretend you didn’t recognize the shape when it came back.

Authority does not equal legitimacy. And legitimacy does not require authorization.

When the system commits injustice, which it is now, waiting politely for the system to correct itself is not neutrality, it’s participation by delay.
