Utterly thrilled with my latest C18th book purchase relating to Quaker history. The Acts of Parliament & associated Acts relating to Quakers, including a timely comment :That no foreign prince, Person, Prelate, State or Potentate, hath or ought to have any Power, Jurisdiction etc in this Realm.

Home tonight after nearly 3 weeks in the arctic circle without internet. The world seems even more crazy than when I left. So here’s a picture of lots of snow and a Sami tent with roaring fire. And no WiFi! It was magical.

You're Dead to Me - Causes of the British Civil Wars: Royalists versus Parliamentarians - BBC Sounds Join Greg and his guests to learn about Charles I and the causes of the British Civil Wars

Listened to this episode on causes of the British civil war and up pops Capt Ann Carter, 1629 grain rioter of Maldon. What a woman. She deserves recognition. The only woman executed for food instability rioting.

George the big Black long haired MaineCoone cat with bright yellow eyes

Well, I’ve made it across the here from the other place where I was The MillersWife. I am an early modern historian of Quakerism, love Jane Austen & my home town of Maldon in Essex. I am also a military museum curator. I really hope everyone plays nicely here. Here’s George to say hi.
