Very strong 'Verb' with @imcmillan.bsky.social.George Szirtes is enthralled by Edith Sitwell.Irina Starovoyt tells of poems hidden in Ukrainian boots. @zainrishi.bsky.social explores a Carl Phillips poem, a world - & Katie Clarke recalls how e e cummings led to quiet talk of time in a dementia ward.

Front cover of Noon by Zain Rishi
Delighted that my copy of @zainrishi.bsky.social's poetry pamphlet Noon has arrived. My first impression is that this is a very accomplished and confident debut. Can't wait to read it in detail! Out now with @theemmapress.bsky.social.

I absolutely loved Noon - the debut pamphlet from @zainrishi.bsky.social These poems trace the coming-of-age journey of a queer Muslim, exploring changes in language and culture across generations. This pamphlet has already attracted a lot of attention, and rightly so; I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Mædwe a poetry pamphlet is beige coloured with a botanical green grass seed drawing. I have arranged it on a wooden desk with a small wooden field mouse and a corn dolly.
The acknowledgments page from Mædwe.
Endorsements from Tom Branfoot and Sophia Argyris.
Me looking excited and terrified holding my pamphlet. White woman with long brownish hair and glasses and a blue jumper.
Mædwe is officially out in the world! With thanks to Andrew and Sophie @salopress.bsky.social, to my lovely endorsers Sophia Argyris and Tom Branfoot, and also to the journals who first published some of the poems (see acknowledgements photo!)

A poem Salt Bride from my ninth collection, Beast, published by @bloodaxebooks.bsky.social last April, inspired by the sculpture Salt Bride by Sigalit Landau. Thank you to everyone who has reviewed and read and who invited me to their venues and festivals β it took five years to write.
