@lucasgonzalez
A #H5N1BadSoonScenario Appropedia.org/Aerosol_pandemic/H5N1BadSoonScenario would require at least Appropedia.org/Aerosol_pandemic/Adjusters or better and Resiliencemaps.org/files/fluscim/FluSCIM-69p-English.pdf or better. HOW can we help that happen?

Here's the latest version of the illustrated survival guide. Lots of new material since my last share on here, including instructions on making a solar food dehydrator.

Could influenza D, which is infecting cows worldwide, become a threat to humans as well? @cohenjon.bsky.social joined scientists in Mexico who are trying to find out.

Are humans being tested?
So what is our species doing? AI safety experts going off to study poetry. Resilience writers studying to become an electrician. Me adding one piece to lucasgs.substack.com and planning on planing (as in woodwork). What else?

Owning both, I do wish the Vitalight had better battery life. The Aranet is really great. It can go for weeks and let me transfer my data to Home Assistant.
CO2 monitors are great for estimating both air quality and the risk airborne disease transmission in a given space. A study just came out comparing the top of the line Aranet with a low cost alternative (Vitalight). Turns out they work just as well in typical environments.
Interesting fact from Mike Costonβs blog: Today domestic cats are the most commonly reported mammal with highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 in the U.S., except for dairy cows.
Now it's done, and I'm going to just let it be. I read that Dee Hock, after creating VISA, retired to a farm. And an important chap in safety at an AI business just retired to do some sort of degree in poetry. I'm not them but I'm going to stop pushing, at least for a while. Cheers!

I'm keeping an eye on your work as I look at how to convey another element in the twofold... "thingie" no, I donβt know how to say it yet. But just to jot a note: one more week of food, one more conversation with local firefigthers, another week of food, etc... Still in pencil, I'm so behind it all!
This is the prompt I used: Use resiliencemaps.org/files/flusci... to understand how to use SCIM (Simple Critical Infrastructure Maps) and OODA for a severe flu pandemic and summarise it for me. (...)
Still no report of humanity getting readier?
Feels like this was going to happen sooner or later. A dairy cow in the Netherlands tests positive for antibodies to #H5N1 #birdflu, which has infected many, many, many cows in the U.S.
As a question. Ok.
An illustrated survival guide, 100+ pages so far. Portable dew harvesters, emergency toilets, solar backups, and yes, zeers for your raccoon companions:
www.the-sentinel-intelligence.net/staying-aflo...
You can convert leak diverters into rain catchers and dew harvesters. You still have to filter the water, but it's way better than having no water at all during an emergency. Just lego together some PVC pipe for a support structure and run the tubing into a water container.

Iβve been working on an illustrated survival guide for a couple of months now. We just crossed 90 pages. Hereβs a PDF.

... our local community which in turn helps us. If the local community includes a power station, that help we're giving can have an even wider impact and so on. Not either or, I'd say! PS: insert all the caveats about using AI. I.e., don't switch your own brain off, and all that. Best wishes. ππ»ππ»ππ»
The idea is, as I said, that maybe it's not either/or. If people need less help, they become a resource for others. If once we are standing on our own feet, let's say we have food and vital medication for a week, then we can make ourselves available to help coordinate the kind of stuff that helps...
