If Ford isn't actually just blatantly biased his ability to read the game the worst I've ever seen. San Jose came to dive all over the place tonight it was plain as day.
That kind of awareness is like
standing at the top of the box for a corner then bowling over an onrushing player ready to score
Before the awful PK call, the free kick that led to it was a disgrace. And then, not only does he give it looking right at the play when the attacker is throwing himself backwards and he falls off balance, VAR tells him he's got it wrong and he overrules them.
First yellow card, he plainly doesn't see it. I cant tell whether its even an elbow and judging by the zero reaction from the fans behind the camera shot, it was purely accidental whatever happened.
Second yellow, the ball is way over the attackers head, he initiates and goes down. Absolute joke
Valiant effort from the Whitecaps.
What an absolute disgrace Tim Ford is. Never been more angry than I was against LAFC in the playoffs 2 season ago, and tonight again just horrendous.
No question, he cost us 3 points tonight in a bid to win the supporters shield.
Time to give Berhalter the armband and a pay rise. He was out there keeping the peace & giving teammates encouragement before they could get annoyed about not getting a pass when the game got out of hand. Those things make a big difference when you've got personalities on the pitch. Impressive stuff
Easiest game of the season.
Ref clearly just felt sorry for SKC in that second half. Every decision that went against Nelson was ridiculous.
Still you've got to put the ball in the back of the net and Takaoka earned his clean sheet.
Fun to watch from the Southside
That offside goal was hilarious, whitecaps only had 3 players beyond the half way line all played a part in it. It was like 3 on 7
Well this is a complete mismatch. SKC look awful.
Nelson is like a wrecking ball out there, such a threat so unpredictable. Ngando was great that half too.
It's a shame we didn't get a run in and playoffs of Vite, Ahmed and Berhalter playing with Guald in midfield after all having improved so much this year.
We might still have a good run, but I feel like we'll never know what the potential of this first year of Sorensen was with Vite gone.
Pedro Vite was a joy to watch. He was a great find for the Whitecaps as a young player and developed vision, passing range and technique the best we have seen since Pedro Morales. His defensive and tactical awareness are probably underrated as well. He's got more potential too.
All the best Pedro!
Definition of a frustrating loss for #VWFC. Keeper error, got pulled out of shape too often, gave a poor team confidence, ref with a shocker, every dive got rewarded. Totally unnecessary red card. Just gross.
But it has been to good a season to let this get to us. Gotta move on.
Tristan Blackmon receiving a vision from God in his Norovirus induced delirium which shows him where the gaps in the Seattle backline are. #vwfc
Utterly embarrassing from the LA players and what a disaster the ref was in that second half.
Odd game, dominant second half, but still could have lost if not for heroics from Takaoka
But a good comeback after a poor start. A lot of players didn't play their best today.
Brian White is awesome
Whitecaps should just go ahead and give Pedro Vite a DP contract for next season.
He was a great find and has grown into a truly dominant player with difference making skill.
A lot of what people are identifying as our 'transition game', is just his vision and varied passing range
Another deserved win, back to back wins days apart from huge semi finals efforts.
The train keeps rolling.
Incredible season for the Whitecaps
This is so embarrassing from Miami, just a bunch of losers
YESSSS!!!!! Vite
These mighty Whitecaps are unstoppable!!!
Get in!!!!! BRIAN WHITE
great move and a great finish.
That's the goal we needed
Miami are such a gross team, Suarez diving every time he goes near the ball, even when he fouls his opponent. His teammates all look to copy him. Gross fouls, diving all over the place. Whitecaps need to keep their composure
Poor goal conceded. Gotta play their own game, we're the better team
Let's take a moment to pay tribute to Sebastian Berhalter. He scored a huge goal in the last game against Pumas, and now this goal against Miami that could be absolutely massive in the history of @whitecapsfc.com
And here is that goal as captured by @residualimage.bsky.social for us tonight.

Would be interested to see his passing %, didn't look like he was on the same page as his teammates.
A couple of decent crosses, and there was the one he got to the byline and cut the ball back but he was on his own.
But considering this is Messi and we are the Whitecaps, that was nothing
Was a privilege to see the greatest player of all time tonight.
Even better he looked out of sorts and frustrated all night.
He got too many calls as well, I think he would admit we set up perfectly against him.
What a night
Whitecaps were absolutely incredible defensively.
Huge result
Great great atmosphere to be a part of.
Going to bed happy and horse
This is an amazing city on days like today.
Tonight is gonna be awesome I can feel it.

Brian White won the PK and let Rios take it because he already had a hat-trick. He could have scored 5 goals today lol
There's a ton of 1v1 battle level and general confidence going on, and it's kind of remarkable how interchangeable players have become particularly in the midfield and wide positions.
Even in the games we haven't won we look the better team. Hesitant to say but kinda feels sustainable.
Watching Austin get torn to pieces by the Whitecaps after having the best defensive record so far this year makes you realize something is going on with SΓΈrensen's tactics.
There seems to be so much space between players in possession. Huge demands on stamina and positional awareness.
Unbelievable game from the Whitecaps. After the highs of Wednesday to come out with a performance like that is incredible.
And Brian White signed a new contract at the beginning of the year.
All this without Guald in the team.
Hard not to get excited about this team.
Whitecaps probably deserve me tweeting again after that.
Absolutely incredible and what a cup tie.
This team has quality, structure and spirit.
Amazing
