Jim Cramer suggests on CNBC that Trump could β€œbomb Tehran into the Stone Age” until Iran reopens the strait, citing U.S. bombings of North Vietnam in the 1970s. Carl Quintanilla points out to him that Hanoi won that war.

Everything is bad, but at least I can focus on my dissertation chapter about how the British in 1915 didn’t have the navy to force a strait when it needed to because it spent the previous decades funding their army’s misadventures in unimportant areas that turned into expensive quagmires.

Let's say that $40M is $70M today.

$30M from the feds
$20M from GNB
$10M from the City
$10M from UNB

Done.

Get to work.

How do we get Dominic LeBlanc, Susan Holt, Kate Rogers, and Paul Mazerolle in a room to just hash this out? How much money are we bringing to the table, and what kind of pool can that build?

If someone doesn't step up and lead this thing, all parties will take another lap or two on doing nothing

Council has been pretending to work on a new pool for about a decade now. There's been no progress. Now, as UNB looks for help keeping the existing pool open, the City of Fredericton wants to turn their backs and walk away.

That's irresponsible.

Fredericton City Council are voting on a resolution tonight to tell UNB they are cutting funding for the Sir Max Aitken Pool.

Fredericton has neglected aquatic sports for decades. My daughter's artistic swimming program has had to reduce and shift schedules because of issues at the pool.
