WAAF WEDNESDAY

Veronica Mary Rawson was born in Tunbridge Wells on the 20th September 1924 to the Rawson family, well known motor dealers in the town.

Joining the WAAF she served with 540 PR Squadron at RAF Benson and was also involved with the preparation of PR aircraft for service

Always lovely to see Tunbridge Wells women with flying connections.

A Labour government intent on a long term legacy on social care? I simply don't see it. An eye on Louise in the long grass rather than Louise leaving a legacy.

Was there a single word in Labour's manifesto on the topic of social care?

Well worth looking at events across England during Heritage Open Days each September as local programmes often include fascinating cemeteries (I am not so sure of similar events in London)

And yet even when funds can and are raised by town and parish councils (the councils particularly close to issues highlighted in pride in place, in my view) this revenue raising was described by the Telegraph at the end of July as an inflation busting stealth tax

Is it Marigold Stairs in the right foreground of the painting?

Your thoughts and observations over the past months and years have been so helpful to those of us in similar situations. Thank you

Vital that any system involving compulsion takes account of those lacking capacity. Matters relating to registration and voting are not something where those of us with powers of attorney can respond on behalf of our family member.

Your enthusiasm yesterday was shared by Walk Tonbridge (on their Facebook account) with their characteristic positivity wherever they explore

An elderly resident explained to me how parents brought children with additional needs to the institution. The children next met their parents at age 11, well aware the meeting was to gauge whether they could be a family wage earner. If not they did not return to the family #sboro #tunbridgewells

As a local historian the earliest record of party bags I have found is from 1890. All children of town (Sboro) came to Muriel Benham's first birthday. Gifts to take home include dolls, musical instruments. Long and extravagant list in local paper Kent and Sussex Courier #southborough #tunbridgewells

Then it seems a gap of a fortnight or so before Upper Grosvenor Road has a five month rolling closure for gas works (leaflet through our door this morning with details of info session at Robin Hood on Tues 8 April 1300 to 1900)

Remember the discussions on the introduction in the early 1980s with the first scheme beginning in April 1985 (thanks, Hansard)

The delight it inspired in one small child on a family trip to the park was a joy to behold
