Lovely pics.
You might want to reconsider your misuse of Alt Text - which should be a description of the image for visually impaired users (every image, every time). Perhaps this is the equivalent of storing wet kit in the disabled loo?

Right I know this is shocking, but guess what? The Oxford Congestion Charge is seeing LESS congestion and MORE people taking the bus. Try this one simple trick etc etc.

Graphic with busy car congested road. Text says car dependency is the opposite of freedom. Mobility freedom comes from mobility choices. Ad is from the Urban Truth Collective.
How about those gas prices? Brutal, huh?
You know what really costs us all a lot?
Car dependency.

A pic from the movie Matilda, Miss Trunchball stands in front of a list of rules, wearing a square cut black coat and leather belt.
You might kindly conclude she aspired to be Miss Trunchball.
Google street view from 2019 of Worcester St, Wolverhampton. A line of parked cars is on one side of the street. No people can be seen.
I've not one iota of local knowledge but I time traveled on Google street view to 2019. Can't see any punters in that pic.
A playbook we recognise more and more
GB News loses Β£22m, taking their total losses to over Β£130m. Except it's not a 'loss', it's an investment by Paul Marshall in providing a propaganda service to platform right wing grifters, gobshites, conspiracy nutters and contrarian fuckwits.

A toddler walks away through sandy ground holding an adult's hand.
This 19 month old took her first ever hesitant steps just 2 weeks ago. This weekend she walked outside for the first time & covered 750m!
Why have we convinced ourselves that children can't walk short distances to school?

Image of car dependency with a line crossed through it. The tagline says βmobility freedom comes from mobility choices.β At the bottom, it says βurban truth collective.β
They really want us to love cars. But why would we love being car dependent?
Dependency is never freedom. Mobility freedom comes from mobility choices. #UrbanTruth
There needs to be an amnesty for red cabbage where you can bring a head back, guilt-free to an agreed location, no questions asked, free to move on with your life, no longer staring at it in the bottom of the fridge.
We need to go back to a situation where racism is shameful rather than electorally advantageous.
Which street needs this next in Exeter?

Read this.
It's the heart of it.
I thought at first it was an airport!
Feels like this is happening here in #Exeter. Letters only coming once a week & in great bundles.

Snowdrops line a Devon hedge bank, the sun shines through bare trees in the hedge beyond.
Snowdrops lining Devon's hedgebanks today. Also alexanders, hogweed, campion, celendine & violet on the coast near lovely Bolberry Down.
Black box monitoring of driving. Five years after passing test minimum. Another five years after any speeding, phone use, collision, insurance claim etc etc. The rest of us have it in our cars and it's switched on for 12 weeks a year, at random intervals. That should sort it.
Car driver waves as they drive onto roundabout into path of cyclist (whose hand signal can just be seen) in a UK urban setting. Wide angle lens makes the car appear further away than the close near-collision reality.
I had the little wave yesterday. She didn't even stop to apologise for nearly killing me. Be thankful this picture doesn't come with sound effects...

4/ Who is sharing a bigger vision? Who is explaining the real choices? This week alone a Reform Cllr tried to imply Β£ for SEND provision relief should be there for potholes!
Come on #Devon let's do better for #Exeter, for #climatechange for the overstretched #NHS & for our children's future.
3/ without modal shift Exeter is drowning in congestion & pollution. People are not able to switch to cycling while routes are incomplete, dangerous or shared with car/HGV traffic. Potholes abound from unnecessary car miles. Drivers complain about potholes & congestion but fight the solutions.
2/ Partly their energy is directed into keeping schemes that were delivered in last 5yrs, now under attack from drivers (who forced out the Exeter LTN & now feel empowered to fight everything). Partly their funds are squandered on car-centric designs, leaving dregs for #activetravel
but....
I feel despair & anger.
Yesterday I narrowly avoided a collision with a πdriving in to meπ²on a roundabout. Only my shout & quick responses averted catastrophe.
BUT I'd written to the council 1yr ago & met a council engineer 10yr ago about this issue.
Why is DCC ignoring danger to people π² π§βπ¦½πΆ?

This by @zoesqwilliams.bsky.social is really worth a read, in spite of the fact that it mentions me in passing. She's convinced me, anyway, that vice-signalling really is a thing - and a phenomenon/technique we need to take very seriously.
Two bluesky posts, the first showing Trump receiving a 'trophy' for being the champion of 'clean beautiful coal', the second warning of climate tipping points pushing us to hellish conditions.
