The Blue Jays went from last place in 2024 to game 7 of the World Series. They showed they could hang against a team featuring the Greatest Player Who Ever Lived. Then, a bunch of Weird Baseball Shit happened, and their luck ran out. That’s the way it goes, sometimes. That’s baseball. So it goes.

Do I wish that the outcome was different? Well, yeah, of course. Am I going to want to disconnect from baseball for a while? Very much! That’s okay. That’s how it goes.

The 2025 Toronto Blue Jays were a collection of circumstances that will likely never happen again. Their season was already a success well before last night, and what happened last night didn’t change that.

Update: don’t think I’ve ever quite seen a sky like this at the ballpark…

A white tarp covers the infield of Isotopes Park, while dark grey clouds lurk ominously in the distance. Those clouds, though, aren’t why the tarp is out; instead, it’s due to the storm coming from the West (behind the camera). Bottom line: this does not look good for Homestar Runner.
