I have officially made it to Chapter 4 of my 3rd-to-1st person rewrite. Yay! I missed these characters! But I'm also realizing that I have an opportunity to tighten the story up a bit. It's actually invigorating!

I have a YA sports romance that I shelved after getting no traction with it. Originally written in 3rd person, I've decided to do a major rewrite, and change it from 3rd person to 1st person. I'm not sure if it's a good idea but I love these characters so much that I'm not ready for them to die yet.
I have to admit that I'm struggling with writing lately. Between the state of the world, a medium-sized medical issue, and my brain still being in the world of my querying book, my creativity has suffered. I'm about halfway through my current WIP but I feel like I haven't gotten anywhere recently.

Use a timer. Set it to 5 minutes. Or 2 if you need a shorter time. And do whatever it is you need to do. Just for those few minutes. Then take a few deep breaths. You can then choose to set another timer if you want. It takes practice, but it works.
