i will never understand the "placeholder" argument.
The whole point of a placeholder is to just hold a place until a proper asset can be made.
You don't WANT it to look good / match the game, because then you might forget it, as so many of these game devs DID.

It's been ten days since Mutant Football League 2 came out, and I thought it would be cool to promote the bandwagon with some fanfare of my orc persona! All geared up and mutated with scars to dig it!
Mutant Football League 2 has a wide range of settings that lets the player make their ideal gameplay experience. There are even settings that turn off Dirty Tricks and Hazards for those that want a game that plays more like traditional arcade sports games such as Blitz. #gamedev #indiegame
Sorry you had to experience that. There is supposed to be a failsafe where the game requires you to kill or bribe the ref after getting several consecutive BS penalties.
When that happens it means the ref is bribed. You kill him or bribe him so that the BS Penalties stop. A bribed ref will also have money in his hat/clothes, and has an icon over his head, plus a money trail to indicate he is bribed.
