In Australia we have wholesale providers like Amber that share the price signals. I know when to plug in a car, run a heat pump, or alternatively delay a dishwasher based on a price forecast and Home Assistant automation. Plus linked to solar curtailment. Price signals work well if you can hear them

We often hear the excuse in Australia "why should we act on emissions and renewable energy when China is a bigger emitter and continues to burn coal".
Australia expects to add 5.5GW of solar generation in 2023, vs China adding 208GW in the same time period.

You’ll know that petrol prices are starting to bite when people start removing their roof racks and unused awnings from their school run cars. I’d love to do a study on the impact of additional drag on emissions * how many awnings have been sold in Australia over the past decade.

I’m not an active poster but I relied on it for so many sources of news. From Climate to industry to friends to hyper-local (did anyone else hear that?) the number of both person and API-driven accounts I followed will take years for a replacement to rise to the top. Selfish but true for many I bet.
