Thanks, John. When we first started our studies of Cure Violence nearly 10 years ago, we met with police officials in Camden, and I told the story for years. Among all cities we visited, Camden stood out because a table of uniformed leaders there didn't blithely dismiss any effort we now call CVI.
I was expecting to be annoyed by yet another "yay, the police did it" local news story, which is how she started. Fortunately, her interviewees did a good job of telling a more detailed story. And her editors left it alone, which is rare. Congrats!
Why is everyone using the word "captured" when "kidnapped" would seem more appropriate?
