I hear you, and ideally I think it should be available regardless of means, but I don’t think our current health or welfare service is prepared to manage it responsibly. I worry the standards of hospice and care for disabled/chronically ill and the elderly would get even worse.

Medical professionals in our mental health services already discharge patients from hospital telling them they have “capacity” to decide to die on a regular basis. Sort that out, fund hospices, provide real treatment for illness and pain relief when there’s no current cure. Then we can circle back!

Same. It seems perfectly rational on a basic human level but after thinking about it a bit more, in the current political state we’re in and the shambles of the nhs… I don’t trust em with it!

Some red flags here on assisted dying. I can’t trust medical professionals in the NHS to put my migraine medications through on time or submit a referral they’ve said they’ll submit. We may need to go back to basics before getting into all this!
