I think one can acknowledge that there are definite personal, political, social, and economic biases among others that might affect the patterns of diagnosis by a medical professional (since they are still humans) without buying into those being the only or even primary motivations.
There's a difference between people thinking they have a condition when they don't, and a medical professional diagnosing a condition where there isn't one. One is a social/psychological issue, the other is medical.
Look up "Dazzle camouflage" on wikipedia then try to unsee it.
That's not what they are hoping. They don't care if they will be safe, or if anyone else thinks they will be. They are hoping that when astronauts die no one will care. That's when they will have won.

I saw it as an amateur theater production before I'd seen the movie or finished reading the book/play.
And as good as the film is I think that stage version was better.
How long did it take you to start noticing results? They got me the exact same machine.
It's not too late. I was undiagnosed for the longest time, got on meds after college, but I was almost a decade older than you before I finally got on some that actually worked right. So it is possible. I'm still learning how to not be depressed. But I'm glad I'm learning.
