Well…nearly done, at least.
Another week done on the road at Doncaster - the end of week five and I still have no regrets about making this move. Driving better buses on nicer routes working with a lovely team and fantastic customers, has really reminded me why I do this job in the first place.
Oh, and a commendation…!
I’m currently sat in tears in a motorway service station unable to get myself home safely but with literally no one still awake to even just talk to to ground myself and this is genuinely one of the worst feelings I’ve ever had right now.
Two 57s and two Thorne’s in two days. Love it.
I think that’s nine new routes ticked off over the course of this week too.
Only a little one, but another route ticked off for me today between my X3s. An interesting week so far; another five routes to tick off tomorrow as I embark on a handful of town rota duties for the next couple of days!
People should be careful about what they read on social media. Not everything is as it’s made out to be………

Three days in at Doncaster, a mix of route learning and mentoring so far but an opportunity to drive a 314 this afternoon has given me my first bit of “proper” Donny mileage - not bad to say it’s a route I unintentionally learnt whilst showing X3s!
Also can we just appreciate the euphoria tonight that today I’ve not actually been misgendered once for the first time ever and even had a trip where I didn’t have a single passenger who didn’t actually gender me correctly properly and it felt so good!!!
Another shift over and done with.

63409 is my first bus today for four hours of 95s; just a couple of days before its third birthday!
No Volvos today though sadly, as my X5 later does appear to currently be 35316.

Three days later than planned, but it’s finally my last tram replacement duty. Been dreading it because it makes everything more real, and the knowledge that I won’t get to do something I really enjoy at work anymore…
