I've been busy with work and preparation for the new academic year over last few summer months. Not a single day that I was unwell. Now I'm ready for the new academic year and today's my last working day before going for my one week break in Greece. Guess what? I now have a cold! π£ #bvpclecturer

Led the visit with #universityofleeds students to #SchneiderElectric in Leeds on where students had hands-on experience with their power system products and witnessed first-hand how a high-tech, smart and green manufacturing site operates in real time. Four of my ex students working there now.

Experiential learning showcase opening talk
Four flip charts containing different coloured sets of post-its
My pleasure to organise a session on #reflectivepractice during this #ExperientialLearning Showcase for the #UniversityofLeeds during which colleagues of diverse areas, academic and professional services showcased their work before I co-led and facilitated a direction-finding workshop in this area.
Ice cream at the entrance of Electronic and Electrical Engineering school of the University of Leeds
Ice cream was our coffee break for the PGR (PhD) Conference 2025 for our School (Electronic and Electrical Engineering) at the University of Leeds, not cake, not biscuits. Very special #bvpclecturer

My poster on the international students' sense of belonging
Pleased to represent the University of Leeds while presenting my works with two groups of colleagues respectively in reflective practice and in international students' sense of belonging at Engineering Education Research Annual Symposium at the University of of Manchester. #bvpclecturer
Pleased to share our recently published SEDA magazine article which I led on our co-reflection in dialogic format on using poetry for reflection at the #universityofleeds. #lifelonglearning #poetry #reflection #creativereflection www.seda.ac.uk/wp-content/u...
My interpretive drawing on what Active Learning is
Third day of #FeLT2025 by @unileedsodpl.bsky.social. This was my drawing to interpret what Active Learning is. No genAI. Just my own work with me giving myself the prompts but somehow after using genAI for generating images for a while, I think it has genAI style!
Corporate profile photo of myself
Just sharing the first corporate profile photo of me taken by the University with shaved head. The previous ones were all with my hair still. And I don't need the one drinking chai latte #bvpclecturer

Having great two days at the #UniversityofLeeds Festival of Learning and Teaching #FeLT2025 by @unileedsodpl.bsky.social and look forward to more in the coming two days
My reflection on my own academic career while reading Meraki the first pressbook leeds.pressbooks.pub/meraki/ of the University of Leeds.

Circuit board of several electronic circuits
I am proud of my UG student with this final year project work - novel electric vehicle-to-vehicle charger with detailed investigation and comparative studies, close loop control design, practical prototype and measurement and control. They presented it last week at a conference π! #powerelectronics
A6. I am curious and interested how I can use more AI in my modules. I know it is a buzz word but at the same time I will balance it with my human quality so that I am not obsolete! That's an artistry I hope to master one day! Not just next year - I might need time sorry! #LTHEChat
A5. Based on my experience, the more human you are with students the more engaged or at least the more attention you can get from them. I hope that's politically correct! πSo if others could see our genuine reason, why there is a question on what we do?... If I answer this correctly? #LTHEChat
A4. I believe we should not model our sector too much like a research institute, defining who are experts who are not, excluding others who want to master/develop their own artistry or try something else! To me everyone can be an educator and learner at the same time. #LTHEChat
A2. When I was new I was afraid to make mistakes and feared being criticised because I didn't think I was good enough. I think new colleagues should be given the confidence, (free) chance to try! They must think "it is OK to make mistakes and they have something to offer too" #LTHEChat
A3. Being offered with opportunity to work with them gives me chance to develop myself. I was initially trained as engineer and worked as one but my role as an educator is developed through working with peers, learning from mistakes and from literature. That free opportunity is essential. #LTHEChat

Very good idea. I just looked at my teaching timetable for 2025/2026 and realised I have an extra lab session. I might turn it to a workshop of learning skills using your suggestion! And maybe I can share it in #creativeHE too? Thanks
Sorry mistake made. I meant *eg, why placing components in certain way...
While I am into AI created images mainly as learning aid, I encourage my students, eg, to draw (using software) the electronic circuit diagrams themselves and then reflect on them. They may then learn something from that process, eg placing components in this easy. Am from electronic engineering
A6 any platforms are ok but make sure they allow free access or use of images so that they don't just simply take images without proper acknowledging. Though limited, they can learn to use right keywords. Microsoft like Word can be good place to start as you can find free images #LTHEChat.
I meant enhancing not engaging...
A5 I learnt a lot in crafting prompts through generating AI image which started as a hobby. I do photography too so I understand that subject creating and narration are important. I'd like them to follow my footsteps in engaging their prompting skill if photography is their interest #LTHEChat
AI created image
I have but I must say the prompt failed me because that approach to create image was not the usual I used to create AI image. Because I literally followed the brief under the Note. Also I literally did that 5 min before the start of this session...i may do another one later tonight using my approach
A4 I haven't thought about this seriously in my area (of electronic engineering). But I was thinking if my students could use it like a flash card to help understand some abstract concept like electric current flow or distribution of electromagnetic field. Creativity in Science! #LTHEChat
A3 Main subject first of which you would like your audience to focus on. For example you would like to describe your experience using a roller coaster as the metaphor. That comes first. Describe the features accompanying the roller coaster. Give further description for each feature. #LTHEChat
Sure, please watch this recording of my presentation at last year's PebbleBash pebblepad.com/resources/vi...
