"Planet of the Humans" barely mentioned human population overshoot, and were vilified for it. "Greenwashed" fills in that missing analysis with credible and ignored data, while exposing equivocation by Guardian reporters and noted scientists. Many revelations might have you shaking your head.

It's kinda funny though: pronatalists quote each other for the illusion of depth. This one quotes Dean Spears, a professor of Economic Demography at The Population Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin, which received a large donation from Musk. + Paul Moreland, depopulation alarmist.

If you link to the article, it's just like so many pronatalist propaganda pieces. Tedious after a couple dozen. Conflates replacement level fertility with zero pop growth & not enough workers to support pensioners. Says India's TFR is 2.0, but no mention of their 250 mill projected growth by 2060.

Dismissing people as “clinging to an outdated idea” is easier than engaging with ecology.

Population isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about land, water, soil, habitat loss, nutrient cycling, fisheries, and mass extinction.

Emissions are only one symptom. Overshoot is the whole condition.

Carney is yet another “green” capitalist grifter.

Same with ecology generally. Most “ecologists” have only basic science degrees and have worked on behalf of industry since graduation.

In my experience, people with forestry degrees typically don't know anything about forest ecology. Worse, they believe themselves to be the be-all-end-all experts on forests, and worse still, politicians and the general public buy into that delusion.

Science is a method, not a mind. It doesn’t know—people interpret its results, often within narrow frames. Real ecological humility means accepting how much we still don’t understand about the living systems we’re unraveling.

Mann & his ilk are actually indirectly responsible for a lot of climate change denial. Most can see “climate action” is largely just profiteering, and destroying ecosystems for renewables mining & deployment makes no sense and people can see that, therefore they think climate change is a scam.

I was blocked by Mann immediately on posting this. What’s his problem - can’t defend his science & world view? I thought science was all about debate. With Mann there is no debate. We can’t question the cult of renewables & green capitalism can we?
