For Valentines' Day, I wrote about ROMEO IS BLEEDING #myfeloniousvalentine web.archive.org/web/20231123...
Itβs 1988 and The Dead Milkmen release their album Beelzebubba, featuring the song βSri Lankan Sex Hotelβ which references Jim Thompsonβs The Killer Inside Me. Iβm 16 at that point, probably a year away from being turned onto Thompson. Now, 38 years later, I catch the reference of the first time.

About that great writing news I teasedβ¦
Iβm thrilled to announce I signed with RHP to publish my next novel, WAVES OF BURDEN. In working with the team last summer I found everyone to be passionate, dedicated, and so thoughtful. I canβt think of a better press to bring this story into the world.
My short noir novel, THE LOW WHITE PLAIN, in which in-love grifters hatch a fake kidnapping plot that gets out of hand during a once in a lifetime winter storm that ends up with a lot of occultist neo-Nazis and their political benefactors dying very badly is back in print today.

"Razor-sharp dialogue and vivid prose ... conjure an intoxicating atmosphere of glamor and decay, while Harperβs distinct characters elicit deep emotional investment. The result is a glittering neo-noir with staying power."
