Another #FindsFriday, we have a lovely Medieval seal matrix, AD 1300-1400.
The die depicts a serifed P within two springs of palm foliage and crown above.
The use of single letters such as this probably represented the initial of the owner.

Bring on the weekend with a #FindsFriday!
A copper-alloy Irish gun money shilling of James II, dated Feb 1689, and minted during the Williamite War 1689-1691 to be redeemed for silver coinage.
They were made from old cannons, bells and scrap metal.

We have an amazing one this week, a Roman copper alloy enamelled British, zig-zag brooch, dating c. AD 100-200.

This is an unusual form, and the first recorded from the southern counties.

Another sunny #FindsFriday at the PAS! Today, we have a lovely Iron Age terret dating between the Iron Age to Roman Period, c. 300BC - 150AD.

The hoop has geometric and vegetal decoration featuring a waving curved line, and vegetal motifs.

Another #FindsFriday with a copper alloy chisel dating to the Bronze Age period (c. 2050-800 BC).
The object has a rounded butt and concave-sided tang that flares gently into a crescent-shaped cutting edge.

A sunny #FindsFriday with a complete bone cuboid die dating to the Post Medieval period, between c. AD1600 - 1800.

For a sunny #FindsFriday we think you deserve something special! Take a look at this copper alloy lozengiform harness pendant dating to c. AD 1250-1400.

The centre is decorated with enamel and a face surrounded by 4 beasts, probably lions.

A copper-alloy cast contemporary copy of a Roman denarius of Diva Faustina I (AD 138-161), struck under Antoninus Pius, dating to the period c. AD 141-161

Time for a #FindsFriday with something different! An incomplete clay pipe with makers mark dating c. 1610-1640. The makers mark can be found on the heel, reading D or C, the initials are divided by a central stem with two leaves above and below.

Going old school with todays #FindsFriday with a complete early Neolithic flint leaf arrowhead dating. c. 4000-3000BC.
The leafshaped arrowhead would be hafted onto the end of a wooden shaft and secured with resin and twine.

Todays #FindsFriday we have a Medieval zoomorphic badge depicting a hunting dog dating to c. AD 1250-1500. The plate is finely worked and probably from a badge or possibly functioned as a strap mount.

#FindsFriday here again! With a Medieval seal matrix between AD c.1300-1400. It depicts a figure of St Catherine with a wheel and palm frond (symbolising martyrdom) to the right. The legend is in latin reading *ECCE AGNVS DEI which translates Behold the lamb of God.

Time for a #FindsFriday with a late Bronze Age socketed hammer dating between 1000-700BC.
This hammer is made from copper alloy, and has been cast, in fact, it is possible to see the casting seam along the length of the hammer!
