I don't need one I was just looking, but I go to that Target all the time and they are usually very well stocked with systems out on the floor

At least it outsold the Wii U before they pulled the plug
I just went to Target and they had no Switch 2's and no copies of Pokopia. This is the first time I've seen Switch 2 consoles sold out since the launch period.
Lots of people think Switch 1 had one of the best first years ever and rightfully so but I think by the time Switch 2 is a year old its first year will be comparable.
7 true exclusives published by Nintendo in Switch 1's first year while Switch 2 will have at least 9. Plus all the third party stuff
Kinda wild there is commentary about digital vs physical media in Pokopia, a game that is on a game key card.
That's a respectable and fair sentiment. If my only option is a key card vs digital though I'll get the key card to show that I still want SOMETHING physical. Anyway this isn't only a Switch 2 problem is kinda what I meant. It's something that is affecting the industry as a whole.
We are talking about video games here brother.
Genuinely asking is your solution just to not buy any new video games anymore?
Understandable. They're not Digimon.
You should try shiny hunting in Legends Arceus or Scarlet/Violet. Those are the games that got me into shiny hunting because it's so much less frustrating and more accessible.
If this is about game key cards then I think it's a pretty silly thing to say when other companies are moving towards a digital only future and PC is already there.
Well I don't blame you there. The Thor is awesome. I have one as well!
I agree but I think that frustrating boils over into other things that are a bit less reasonable.
That's totally fair. I think waiting is smart (hopefully the price doesn't go up from the stupid AI RAM shortages). But I do think the lineup for year one has been super solid even if not everything appeals to you.
I hate this so much. Doesn't YouTube require you to disclose whether a video is AI generated? I'd be willing to bet these all use AI voiceover and scripts.
This is not true. There is wording within their EULA that says they COULD do that if you use pirated software but all console manufacturers have similar wordings in their EULA's and have for years and years going back to previous consoles. Another false narrative from the early Switch 2 hate train.
Plus people buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games. That's one of the biggest reasons anyone would want it over the Steam Deck. I think the Steam Deck is a great device but the Deck is far more niche.
Stick Drift: no evidence of that being an issue yet. Nintendo will also fix controllers for free.
Screen: Yeah they cheaped out there
Library: Disagree completely about it being lackluster + entire Switch 1 library available.
Steam Deck: More expensive, similar battery life, not even available rn
I'd be furious lol. But yeah cartridges were damn expensive to produce. I'm pretty sure I've seen ads for 80 dollar games even back then.
It certainly depends on tastes but I don't think you can discount the Pokemon games when looking at the lineup as a whole. I think it's pretty comparable to the first year of switch 1 and people view that in very high regard and for good reason.
Anyway I completely empathize with anyone that feels priced out of any video game console or game. Especially in the current market with prices of consoles going up rather than down after 5 years. It's all crazy. I wish things could be cheaper for everyone.
I do agree they should bring back stuff like Nintendo Selects but that's also not something they did until 4-5 years into the consoles life. And affordability and what is worth it all depends on perspective. Games were extremely affordable to develop on Wii compared to HD era consoles.
I guarantee you'll be able to get games like Bananza or Kirby Air Riders on sale for 40 or 50 bucks in a year or so. Yeah, not as big of a discount but if you shop around there are deals. Metroid Prime 4 has already been discounted a few times I've seen in places.
I totally understand the pricing issues. I do think Nintendo games go on sale somewhat more often than they used to but you usually have to wait longer and the discounts aren't as steep. And they are never permanent but that's really how it has always been for Nintendo.
Yeah this is true. I think the pricing narrative has also really just upset people even though the cost of everything is stupid right now.
It's getting harder and harder to really understand the constant negativity surrounding the Switch 2 at this point for me. Yeah things are expensive but as far as games go and support from both first party and third party I think things have been stellar for year 1.
Happy birthday!!!!
I'm playing Pokopia as if it's PowerWash Simulator or something and I'm progressing very slowly but idc I'm having a blast ๐
I completely forgot there was a stage in Dead or Alive Dimensions on the 3DS based off of an area in Metroid Other M. Kind of a wild but cool addition.
He dabbed on em (me)
The 3D was great. It made so many games pop. There were a few games it was poorly implemented in but otherwise I had 3D basically always on.
