Marvel fans: We DON'T like Ike.
Aah, okay. Actually, that makes sense thinking about it.
Remind me, was it Thor: The Dark World that had the composer replaced? I know that movie didn't have the easiest production.
I think what gets me is the smugness of people. It's like they're looking down on people for liking "nostalgia bait," or "cowardly art that says nothing," or some variant of that phrase.
I hate echochambers, yet I just want to tune the noise out.
I know some people will deflect and say "they're just movies, it's not that deep."
Then why am I being singled out for liking a movie you don't? I know this goes into stuff like emotional investment and how art is commercialized, but I hate being quiet just to not start a shitstorm.
TFW I love both TLJ and TROS. I don't think we're gonna see true "honest" retrospectives of either movie until people let go of what they want/see both those movies as, instead of what they actually are.
Not saying they have to like 'em, but fuck, it's tiring.
I have a friend (MTF) who uses "slop" all the time in the way you just described.
I love her, but man, I feel like their abrasive approach chaffs hard with my laidback approach.
I made the most unholy wheeze hearing that scream LMAO
Me, meanwhile:
The manbaby industrial complex (to use a term from Thought Slime) is a money-laundering scheme.
Normally, I'd say "well, that's what marketing is supposed to do."
When it's with "That Which Shall Not Be Named," it is because they're flaunting its insidious power.
Heart to like autism.
Repost to fight for autistic people.
I'm all for being sensitive to people, but I can't help feel like we're treating people more and more like babies.
Or maybe it's just the "too sensitive for their own good" people coming out in full force.
It's The Muppet Show with our very special guest star Guy Incognito!
DAI HENSHIN! GASHUN! LEVEL UP!
MIGHTY JUMP! MIGHTY KICK!
MIGHTY MIGHTY ACTION X!!!
I love films for all ages as much as the next person, but if you need to cover your eyes if a movie mentions sex or need to complain if you are watching moral ambiguity...
I'm sorry, you need to step outside your comfort zone.
It's hard right now because of the rampant right-wing complex infecting social media. They're being primed to hate what they initially loved.
Prequel kids had to deal with RLM and the rise of YouTube, as well as having those movies made fun of on late night shows.
Even during my "Prequels Bad" phase, I still felt weird because the Prequels were my gateway into Star Wars. I spent a lot of time playing the LEGO game versions of them and would replay specific moments in those movies.
Question: What are "Woke 2020" takes, and what constitutes being one?
Since Marvel and DC are doing crossovers with Spider-Man and Superman for the next couple of months, I figured I'd at least make something showing my excitement for both crossovers.
This isn't much, but I still like how this turned out.
My biggest concern is how nothing from first movie was learned from.
Unless they venture into the RPGs, I'm worried they'll run out of material for these movies to cover after the third one.
Iron Man 2, with cameo from Elon Musk.
It makes that part of the movie harder to watch, even if it's very brief.
Even if the Sith Troopers are just red First Order Stormtroopers, they're still my favorite looking army in Star Wars.
rt if u hate nazis and love boobs
Hulk in the MCU is a complicated case because you can see the story they have with him, but itβs truncated because of what they canβt do.
I imagine that if Marvel had the Hulk rights, we wouldβve seen a more fleshed out version of what Ragnarok to Endgame had with him.
I think even if Marvel Studios wanted to do something akin to Leeβs Hulk, theyβd have to work with Universal (who still have the solo movie distribution rights), and they wonβt work things out for one reason or another. Universal has a catalog that doesnβt necessitate that need to work with Disney.
One of my friends feels like, as much as Gunn wants all these DC projects to be different, the contrast between Guy Gardner doing crazy Lantern stuff, only for Lanterns to be much more grounded is a bit too much of a contrast.
Mostly, he wants consistency with how certain parts are portrayed.
