I can do a lot with CSS, but not good layout and 'cards'. Why would I, when there are libraries that take care of it? I don't like that Bootstrap requires jquery, and eventually I'll figure out another library or the CSS. But for now, it works.
I did mine myself too. Mostly html, javascript and some csv files. If I were better at CSS, I would dump Bootstrap. But I'm not, so I used it.
