2/I preferred Chiang Rai. It felt more like a Thai city, with a variety of things (museums, gardens, parks) that weren’t so focused on foreign tourists. It was less crowded too. They’re building a major highway between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, so Chiang Rai may not be the quieter city much longer.

1/It depends on what you’re looking for. Chiang Mai has a huge expat population and it really caters to expats and tourists. English is spoken in a lot of places and you can find chip shops and pizza places if you are looking a cuisine other than Thai. The surrounding area is beautiful.

I’m just glad I’m not the one in charge of cleaning the litter boxes! 😂😷

I was in AmeriCorps back in college. This administration doesn’t understand anything but a financial balance sheet. The find no value in anything but money and power. Compassion, service, & beauty are meaningless to these hollow shells of human beings. 😔

😂 It shows the difference between reflexive panic buying & actual preparation. I am currently spending a few months in a very rural area of Kentucky. There aren’t many plow trucks in rural roads & if you live off a dirt road, you’re on your own. People here stocked up on propane.

I think that’s a very good possibility. What a wonderful thing the CCC was! I wish our leaders would have the vision for something like this today.

I’m sure it was. The funny thing is, this is a suburb of a decent sized city. The longest it takes to plow the roads, even for a big storm, is a day or two. People panic buy like they’re pioneers out on the prairie who will have to survive until the spring thaw. 🙂🙃

The bread isle and frozen food section at a Cincinnati, Ohio, grocery before the last big snow storm. Apparently everyone was planning to survive on chicken nuggets & sandwiches. Is the crazed grocery run just a Midwest thing?
