Rape victims deserve better than a justice system which puts them under the spotlight, rather than the perpetrator.

Our work with @KatrinHohl will change that.

Combined with our new Independent Legal Advisors, we will give rape victims confidence in the system again.

πŸ“š Happy #WorldBookDay!

I stopped by the World Book Day drop-in in Parliament to celebrate the joy of reading.

Reading for pleasure opens doors for young people, building imagination, confidence and opportunity. Every child deserves access to books both at school and at home.

A meaningful meeting with Niall Collins in Dublin this week to discuss our shared mission to tackle the epidemic of violence against women & girls. We're united in our drive to crackdown on cowardly online abuse, fight the root causes of misogyny & protect women & girls from harm.

I was proud to speak yesterday at a parliamentary event hosted by Women’s Aid and Vintage to mark the launch of GisΓ¨le Pelicot’s memoirs.

Her bravery and determination to use her voice to help others is truly inspiring, and a powerful reminder of why we must keep working to end VAWG.

'We want the truth' - families of Nottingham attacks victims speak ahead of inquiry hearings An inquiry into the attacks carried out by Valdo Calocane will hear evidence in London from Monday.

As the public inquiry hearings begin today, my thoughts are with the bereaved families and survivors of the Nottingham attacks. I’m thinking of them all at what will be an incredibly difficult time.

Proud to welcome the Prime Minister to Taffs Well today to announce a major, long-term commitment to transforming Welsh rail.

This is a real step forward for our communities, better connections, new stations, & investment to support jobs across Wales.

No one should experience rape or sexual assault. But for those who do, centres like the Saint Mary’s SARC are a lifeline. It was an absolute privilege to meet their staff today.

Together, we will halve violence against women & girls in a decade & deliver swifter justice for victims.

I’m really proud to have been recognised by Movember as a Men’s Health Champion.

There’s still so much more to do, but I’m proud to support the work that’s helping men and boys feel able to talk about their health and get the support they need.

I just voted to lift 450,000 children out of poverty. That’s a labour government in action.

We’ve published new guidance on Independent Stalking Advocates to help agencies boost support for victims and survivors.

Huge thanks to @suzylamplughtrust.bsky.social and the National Stalking Consortium for sharing their invaluable expertise and helping make this happen!

"If we see cruelty or wrong that we have the power to stop, & do nothing, we make ourselves sharers in the guilt.” Virginia Roberts Giuffre

No one is above scrutiny when it comes to getting justice for survivors of Epstein’s crimes. Victims are still waiting for answers. They deserve the truth.

'Self-defence classes saved me after being abused' A self-defence class is helping those who have experienced abuse regain their confidence.

I’m so proud to see Counter Force, based here in Pontypridd, featured by the BBC.

What Carl and the team have built for survivors of domestic abuse in our community is genuinely special. This recognition is so well deserved.

Today, we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and all victims of the Nazi regime and other atrocities throughout history.

As we mark Holocaust Memorial Day, we honour those who were lost and recommit to building a brighter future.

This change was driven by brave survivors who spoke out and shared their experiences. We listened. Their voices made the difference.

This Labour Government is putting victims first. Always.

The end of a trial does not always bring clarity and closure.

That's why we're making access to a judge's sentencing remarks free for all victims. Helping them understand the outcome of the case that has shaped their life, so they can finally move forward.

No one should be forced to see an intimate deepfake image of themselves.

The behaviour we’ve seen on X recently is appalling, harmful and degrading. It must stop.

That's why this Labour Government is acting to ban the creation of non-consensual explicit deepfakes.

Our Pathfinder family courts are already cutting down the backlog.

Expanding this innovative approach to Hampshire & the Isle of Wight will:

βœ… shield more children from trauma
βœ… give children & victims greater support
βœ… provide swifter justice for families

Tragic murder of dad-of three triggers change in law for prison officers Vile criminals who murder off-duty or former police, prison or probation officers will face spending the rest of their life in jail under a strengthening of the law

I welcome the Deputy PM's announcement today that killers of police, prison & probation officers will face whole life orders. This is necessary to protect those who dedicate their lives to keeping the public safe.

Rape victims in England and Wales to be protected from β€˜serial liar’ trope in legal shake-up Exclusive: New laws will also curb questioning and aim to stop complainants being discredited over previous reports
