5 rows of quilt blocks with each row being the same block design. The overall look is art deco. The blocks are in solid colors which are purple, fuschia, pink, turquoise, lime green and black.
A sneak peek at what is currently on the design wall. There is still a lot of appliqué to do and only about halfway through the blocks but it’s starting to look like something. Pattern is Vesta by Julia Wachs.

A small slow stitched block. The background consists of two fabrics, both in shades of pink. One fabric is pink with large red polka dots and the other fabric is a geometric design in shades of pink. In the center of the block is a yellow felt heart with an embroidered eye in the middle. The iris is blue. The rest of the heart is decorated with randomly placed yellow seed beads and pink sequins. The heart is outlined with dark pink colonial knots and then outlined again with metallic blue seed beads. The edges of the block are finished with a yellow blanket stitch.
Life has been doing its thing and sewing time has been nonexistent. Finally back to my regularly scheduled weirdness and got some slow stitching in. Decided to play around with eyes, this is the first in a planned series.

A quilt with varying shades of blue as the background to depict water. The main image is that of a kraken done in purples and pinks.
Release the Kraken! 60 x 80 inches. Completed June 2024. It is from LegitKits. I listened to Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt while piecing this one. It was a perfect match up and a book I highly recommend. 🙂

A quilt with a light blue background and a goose appliquéd in the center. The goose is wearing a leather flight helmet, goggles and a scarf. The goose is sitting in a wash tub with propellers and is accompanied by a scared looking mouse. The border is a darker blue and consists of flying geese quilt blocks.
I declare it Silly Goose Saturday! Another challenge quilt. This time the theme was flying geese. They meant the flying geese quilt block. However, as the guild’s resident smart ass, I presented Gus the Flying Goose and his sidekick Marvin Mouse.

Another wall hanging. Completed April 2024. Foundation paper pieced. Pattern by Libs Elliot. This was for a quilt group challenge that required a touch of gold. Gold fangs seemed just the ticket. 😜
