I ran my game God-Killer Prophecy today and one player was like "wait did we play this like 6 years ago" and I said no that was a modified Quiet Year. It's in the of inpirations for a reason though.

A very thoughtful piece James! Folks should ponder it. I have an instinctual quibble over the term "genre" because we use it all the time to discribe genre's from literature that an RPG uses (i.e. Fantasy) We certainly need to develop a Typology for categorizing the play experience!
Making a mountain out of a molehill perhaps, I am deeply concerned about how we don't have proper genre categories in #TTRPGs, and wrote an article about why, and what-for, and so on. Go see, #ttrpgcommunity.
