Renee Good's partner addresses Minneapolis immigration crackdown one month after killing Becca Good has seldom spoken out since Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Jan. 7.

“Renee was not the first person killed, and she was not the last,” Becca Good said. “You know my wife’s name and you know Alex’s name, but there are many others in this city being harmed that you don’t know — their families are hurting just like mine, even if they don’t look like mine.”

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

She was a beloved child of God, with inherent value and infinite worth.

She was murdered by her own government in broad daylight in what is supposed to be the greatest democracy on the planet.

I was in a book club that met at a bar. At Christmas we wrapped a book from home and each of us picked one not knowing what it was or who from. It was so much fun!

Honestly my book club has more fun with the ones we hate. It’s the books that are Just OK that are the worst for conversation. And even ones that are good but not especially great dry up the convo pretty quickly. But a good ole roast? It’s usually a fun ride 🤣

Sometimes the best discussions came from the worst books…so don’t worry about it. And PS, I’m still trying to live down that I made our group read Vance’s book.😬
