We broke our bad streak this week with “Say Anything” and goddamn, what a solid good-ass movie that was!!

We broke our bad streak this week with “Say Anything” and goddamn, what a solid good-ass movie that was!!

This week on the Starring Springfield; We are really pushing the definition of ‘starring’ as we review “Say Anything…”which apparently stars Dan Castellaneta.
He’s in it according to imdb & that’s good enough for us because this movie ruled 💛💛 Check out our glowing review now!
The last 3 weeks haven’t been amazing, but next week, we have an excellent movie to review.
I’d give you a clue what it is, but to say anything would give it away…
#letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched
You can see Yeardley Smith play Daniel Sterns jilted lover in “City Slickers” and you can hear us review the movie on Starring Springfield!
There would be nothing else linking these four movies other than the criteria for our dumb podcast.

2015’s Fantastic Four movie is less fantastic & more fascinating.
One of the last Fox produced superhero movies before being bought by Disney, it was meant to have a sequel in 2017 but this one tanked so hard that it was cancelled.
But is it that bad?
Yup!
Check out our review now!
Guess the movie we’re reviewing this week!!
- stars Dan Castellaneta
- mid 2010s
- unpopular superhero movie that has since been rebooted
It’s a bit gross that James L Brooks used The Simpsons to advertise Ella McCay.
What is funny about it though, is that Lisa & Marge misquote the ending line of the movie that was itself, performed by Julie Kavner.
With us, you know you’ll get a movie starring a Simpsons voice actor. Everything else is fn random.

In 2017 The Jetsons were resurrected after a 27 year long absence with the help of WWE.
So was this movie a fun cartoony crossover or a cynical corporate crapfest?
Check out the latest Starring Springfield podcast to hear our thoughts!

Out now on the podcast, we review 2011's "Drive" which stars Albert Brooks in a brilliant, yet wholly unsettling performance.
This flick has a reputation as a cult classic and indy darling but with very good reason. Check out Starring Springfield now to hear us gush over this awesome movie.
Catherine O’Hara was sublime. I’m so appreciative that her career crossed over so much with Harry Shearer’s that we got to and get to appreciate her genius and craft.
Rest in Power!
If the film itself isn’t weird enough, the internet’s remixing of Bee Movie is even weirder.
We get into all that and more on the podcast this week. Just bee prepared for a bunch of intentional and unintentional bee puns.

Tomorrow… 🐝 🎥
Heeey I recognise that guy 💛
Were we too harsh on Godfather Part 3?
Looking through Letterboxd, we are a couple stars below the average rating!
#letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched #thegodfatherpartiii
Very unfair that this is the only Godfather movie that qualifies for our podcast.
At least Joe Mantegna gets to shine as he is bringing his best. But is hampered by a boring script & a bad character name.
Anyway, join us on a new Starring Springfield podcast & hear about what a dull time we had!
A mere fortnight after we reviewed “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”, we return to the realm of live-action mixed with animation as we watch “Space Jam” starring Dan Castellaneta.
And surprisingly, he is one of the live action actors in this flick!
How did this 90s megahit hold up? Toon in to find out!
What movie are we reviewing tomorrow?
Well, let’s just say that maybe this week we should call the podcast Monstarring Springfield!
Need an easy, chill, vibey, music-movie for your post new years cool down?
Well, Paul Simon wrote & starred in a flick called “One-Trick Pony” & it’s a nice time
Light on plot, but has a killer soundtrack & heaps of fun cameos, incl. our boy Harry Shearer!
Check it out & check out our review!
I honestly think it’s up there with the best Christopher Guest movies. A real under appreciated gem!
Absolute roller coaster of quality to cap off 2025.
Help us ring in the new year by subscribing to our podcast 💛

Get on it now for some great, thoughtful & funny dissections of the classic spooky weird anthology serieses!
This week on the podcast we review an absolute masterpiece; “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” starring Nancy Cartwright & Russi Taylor!
Good timing as well cause I reckon this is a perfect movie to watch in the post Xmas, pre NYE time. It’s perfect anytime really. Just go watch it & listen to our pod 💛💛
Tomorrow; We review a movie, where its title is a question!
What could it be?
#letterboxfriday #lastfourwatched
I was at my Dad’s place today & there in his Shel Silverstein shrine, is a pretty pristine VHS copy of Things Change.
Which is Shel’s only movie writing credit & we reviewed it on the latest Starring Springfield podcast.
#ShelSilverstein #JoeMantegna
Starring Springfield’s seasonal selections!
What other Xmas movies starring Simpsons people should we review?
#christmasmovies
This week on the podcast we review “Things Change” starring Joe Mantegna.
This quirky little mafia farce was the one screenwriting credit by Shel Silverstein. A man who, imo, doesn’t get enough flowers.
Check out this flick, check out our pod and also have a safe & happy holiday season 💚
Ah we’re a bit late but happy Friturday!
