I categorized it in my mind as "coming out way in the future" and now that's now, damn
hmmm... what's the story here...?

Somebody Stop Me!
I can't resist making more & more floppy physics based props for my horror game!
#gamedev #indiegames #horrorgames
arent we all
Hard to say without having played, but maybe if you're trying to avoid the "gotta save this" mentality maybe just have it go on automatically when you get it and have players strategize their moves so it pops at the right moment in each fight?
thanks. really easy effect to do, too. maybe I'll post about it later
Why Didn't I Do This Sooner?!
Now when you open a package, it's label is visible on the empty box off to the side.
No need to reseal, check the label, and open it up again to continue checking out the goods

oh fffffuck the VIBE!
I Can't Stop Myself ππͺ
Love making the props feel real & tangible to the point of being able to sit and fidget with them

For sure! A lot of the time, players can appreciate things they don't consciously notice
I definitely didn't spend two days making sure you could flop both halves of a book around... but look at this! π
Still a bit of a WIP, but the goal is to make most objects feel this tactile. Is it overkill? Probably. Will players notice? I hope so.

Shot me right in the heart with that one, damn
The invisible harm AI has done to career artists
Crazy how fast a our minds get used to how shitty and broken so much of our wip games are in the mid-game
This guard post was a 5-minute job that now has more atmosphere than the rest of the wing combined.
Definitely a "happy accident" keep. Now I gotta figure out how to make the rest of the wing look this good

More vibe-plotting & lighting doodles. Much happier with the color scheme here now.

LinkedIn is one of those things I never got into and I've never once felt like I was missing out on anything
Good job, Albert!
Not all too unusual a response, given the input stimuli
I'm not sure but I think what you're asking is why project an image of the room onto a plane with distortion on it vs a box with no perspective distortion?
If so, the answer is simply that the distortion is less math for your computer than the extra faces. Especially if there's 100's of rooms
It's a good question. In this case it's waaaaaaay more performant because I'm just distorting a jpeg based on what angle you're viewing it from. If these were modeled geo your GPU would be doing all sorts of math multiple times over regarding each vertex, materials, textures, lighting, shadows, etc.
Yeah I think they're pretty neat
Yeah, it's a pretty common trick but my lizard brain loves implementing it
It's all a lie.
Distant inmate cells don't exist. Itβs just interior mapping on flat planes. Just a .jpg and some code.
Depressing for the player, hopeful for the GPU.
Be honest, could you tell it was a flat plane before I told you?
