Typical Dutchman, always looking for a bicycle route! ๐
Seeing it built may take a while, but weโve waited 2000 years for Hadrian to โfinish the buildโ so another year is nothing!
Hadrianโs wall episode was great too. What made it remarkably relevant is that, almost 2000 years after it was built, my daughter has been working designing the adjacent cycle path!
If you ever find yourself in Iceland, the fabulously random Punk museum, in an old underground toilet facility in Reykjavik, is worth a visit.๐๐ฎ๐ธ
Where / when will Alex Marquez win his first (Sunday) MotoGP race? Surely itโs due soon?
A mโbike leaning against a wall is so much different than one using a side stand
Seconded! We were there three weeks ago and loved it! ๐๐ฎ๐ธ

Look at how talented my artist wife is.

Good stuff! Cheers Chris๐๐ผ
Ah yes, how have I changed?!
I still love bikes that talk to me, still value charm & silliness over comfort, still like silly twisty roads rather than big open onesโฆ
But, Iโm no longer disappointed to get home without grinding a slider, instead I value just getting out on a bike, any bike. ๐๐๐ผ
Sorryโฆ what was the question? ๐คฃ
And hence I now believe that a basic human right is to have:
a sports bike ( for track โcos roads are busier & worse than ever).
Some sort of vencha bike, albeit mine is old & slow.
A Supermoto, to replace a sports bike on the road.
Heated gloves, โcos bikes make me feel good at all times of year!๐
And then, when my road bike was a newish โ98, I saw an 1150 GSโฆ
I bought one to share the garage with the Yam and it was an eye openerโฆ
โก๏ธheated grips!
A usable pillion seat!๐โโ๏ธ
It smoothed out roads but still wheelied over crests!๐
Basically, a grown-up bike for someone that still hasnโt grown up!
Loved sports bikes but then discovered Supermotosโฆ Iโve had loads, from 500 strokers to current Husky 701. Fun, light, fun, crashable, funโฆ
I loved how I could ride to work, enjoy a trail ride, go racing, even enjoy a daft weekend camping, but obvs theyโre pretty crippling for any distanceโฆ ๐
Field bikes 1st, rode a knackered SS50 everywhere at 16, 125s, KR1 250, radicalised by the 1st PB Knockhill Frenzy!
Then proddie racing from 250 to ExUP1000, Ministocks (cheaper) & years of hill climbs (cheaper still). Always enjoyed โThinkingโ about my ridingโฆ but often thought the wrong thing!๐คฃ๐คฆ๐ป

๐ Tuneโs gonna be stuck in your head now! ๐คฆ๐ป
I can imagine the first MotoGP test alreadyโฆ
โHey Fabianoโฆโ
โScusi Romanoโฆโ
โCiao Gigiโฆโ
And by the first race the GS is gonna have an adapted ride height device to eccentrically move the pivot of the suspension rocker and change the effective spring rate for different luggage! ๐
This is a reconstruction of the full tower, it is based on scanning of the surviving structure and accurate historical documentation.
I love these cut-out see through illustrations, used to stare at them for ages as a kid.
Look there's the toilet!

I got a proper bollocking off a marshal, doing a โFlat Hillclimbโ Twisty sprint meeting at Elvington, as Iโd forgotten Iโd left a friendโs โPlastic with Titanium bitsโ slider on. Apparently it makes people โThink youโre crashing!โ๐
P.S. Race/track Marshalls are awesome! ๐
Oohhโฆ Protek, T-Pro, Hein Gerick, Nankai, wIZ plastic, WIZ leather, The ones with the lighter flints in, the ones with Titanium bits in, errโฆ

Exploring a bit of North Yorkshire this morning.๐
Yay! Christmas has come early!
Cheers FECfellas! ๐๐ผ๐ป
Thanks David for another year of keeping us well informed, making us think and helping us laugh. Itโs very much appreciated! ๐
