Tony Burke has revealed one of the two women from the Iranian soccer team who sought asylum and was offered a humanitarian visa in Australia yesterday has decided to return to Iran.

The home affairs minister says the woman contacted the Iranian embassy in Australia so she could get collected, which resulted in the previously undisclosed location of the woman being revealed.

Burke says the women who chose to remain in Australia were moved "immediately".

"My officials made sure that this was her decision and every question you would want asked was asked," Burke says.

"Every member of this delegation they have been shown a respect by Australia that would be unfamiliar to them.

"I think we can all be very proud of the Australian Federal Police, of my home affairs officials, of everybody who's been involved in this, to make sure that Australia is a country where they can see there is freedom of choice for women as well," he says.

I'm glad that the remaining women who have chosen to stay were moved immediately once their location was disclosed to the Iranian embassy.

Australia must protect these women.

Australia must do all we can to protect these Iranian women. I'm glad they are now safe but I fear for the others who may have wanted to seek asylum but were unable to.

Australia must also do all we can to protect Iranian women and girls in Iran.

China and North Korea are clearly VERY keen to avoid playing Australia.

A brutal tackle very early on dismissed with only a yellow card after an onfield video review.

It was a clear red but I'm glad it's still 11 v 11.

Fight on!

I'd like to assume it was the AFC and not the local organising body that set those exorbitant prices.

If you told the 2010 version of me that an AFC Women's Asian Cup Group Stage match would cost $130 only 16 years later, I'd assume it was due to some South American style hyperinflation!
