Which risky choices should (and do) we study as behavioral scientists? In two related articles, we recently examined the current "ecology of risk" (i.e., laypersons' reports on what risky choices they face in real life) and how these choices differ from those [โ€ฆ]

Can We Process Information Without Encoding It into Working Memory?

Our findings with @gidon-frischkorn.bsky.social and @koberauer.bsky.social suggest that processing entails encoding. Task-irrelevant information enters working memory during processing, impairing memory for relevant information.

Bindings for Action: Bridging the Gap Between Theories of Procedural Working Memory and Action Control Research | Journal of Cognition

In a new review paper in @jcgntn.bsky.social , we compare the #BRAC framework with procedural #WM theories.

We clarify where they agree & diverge, and demonstrate with simulations that procedural WM can capture hallmark BRAC effects.

As a synthesis of my PhD research, we revisited the prevailing assumption about the mechanisms underlying repetition learning, and re-evaluated these assumption in light of recent findings.
