For those wondering, the reason I got rid of the screenshot function in the save menu is because saving the game is now only possible in the overworld, so having a screenshot of the same location isn't very helpful for knowing when in the story that save takes place, thus using chapters instead.
Even I cannot make out what is happening in this picture and I'm the one that drew it.
I haven't tested it out yet, but I'm also trying to make it so that a main character gets added once you reach the end of their story. Will look something like this when 100% completed.
A very intuitive and well designed save menu that did not take me a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very long time to figure out.
Save menu overhaul.
The game will no longer use the date to name a save file, instead it will just say the current chapter (May change it to the current in-game date for convenience).
Also displays the overall playtime for that save.
Also I changed they're scarves to be bows because it looks nicer (except for the yellow one).
Child with white hair leans over, exhausted and lacking in will to live. His arms hang flippantly from his arched shoulders and settle into the area between his bent, aching knees. His eyes resemble grains of rice.
A rich girl resembling salad places a fisted hand on her hip, curving her spine into a shape of superiority. She flaunts her eyes to the right, the opposite direction that her head is currently tilting towards. She wears a blue, unclutched, pearl necklace and a pink heart atop the right corner of her abnormally large forehead.
Pink girl.
Incidentally traumatized girl with golden blonde hair stares ominously to the right just underneath her Yu-Narukami-style bowl cut. She wears a uniform that does not resemble the uniforms worn by other characters for reasons. She also has cat kneesocks.
New sprites.
The same thing but he's surprised.

A beautiful 480 pixels by 1080 pixels image sprite of a white-haired Japanese teenager named Shunta Shiiro who stands slouched with his knees bent, back curled, and left hand scratching the side of his bland-looking head as he looks to the left, away from his problems.
I know its been a while but I've got some big dev updates coming soon. Still working on the foundation of it all, but I got some sweet new systems to show off.
Until then, here's a new Shunta sprite
As you might be able to tell, I haven't finished some of the sprites yet, thus the weird eye thing, just ignore that.
List of changes since last time I showed this off.
- Added date to the top left corner (persona moment).
- Added full body sprite to bg.
- Added "tape button" dialog options.
- Added character sprites with replaceable eyes.
- Copied, flipped and mangled the face of said character sprite.
I wanna start posting more game dev stuff here so I'm gonna do that.
Here's some more early Mirror Drama footage.

You guys need to start reading the alt text I put on these btw, I think they're underrated.
Pico Fulp and Darnell Grounds loiter within the backstreets of Philadelphia. Pico slouches in an office-chair-like position due to his chronic gaming addition whilst Darnell flickers an ominous flame in the foreground. They look onwards with a most devious glare, though it is not known whether this is due to internal malice or they just look like that.

The eyes are a whole other thing. Each character has separate images for blinking and eye movement. What I need to do is make the eyes a separate set of smaller images that can be combined with whatever poses in-code.
It'll really help with saving file space, which is my main concern at the moment.
To be specific, the two biggest problems with the current sprites are eyes and extra poses.
There are way too many poses for each character, I need to cut it down to maybe 3 per person, exception being Shunta who would maybe have 7.
I'm debating on if I should redraw the sprites, but I'm kind of digging my current art style so I might just delay the next build another year to do that.
I need to optimize them anyways, so it would be good to just redo them all completely and cut out anything unnecessary
