Whats killing me is I have asked for this a dozen times before in less direct ways and he just ignored me and kept hovering next to me and cornering me into my cubicle so I just said it softly and plainly so it would be understood cause english is his second language. And you'd think I slapped him.

I was just always taught that personal space is a basic boundary and if someone is too close its okay to ask for space and the reasonable response is, "No problem!" And not "That is so disrespectful, I cant believe you just said that, maybe you need to think about if you really want to work here."

They were so quick to get me on for this interview tomorrow for this other job that is less of a headache and pays at least as much if not more than Im making now. Im about to gonin there and just rock their entire world. If I get the job I might not even show up back to work if they just hire me.

So when someone stands about 4 inches away from you while youre sitting down, pretty much up against your office chair, and you say "Sorry, can I have my personal space please?" Is that rude in like, non-american cultures?

This is the game where when it first dripped people asked for a friendly fire off option and the devs said "No." And when asked why they said "Because its really funny."

Im sick of people complaining about helldivers 2 balancing just go play on a lower difficulty and goof off. Its grunt bullshit simulator first, grunt fantasy second. If you dont laugh about fragging each other on purpose at least once just cause it was funny then why even play.

Americans are sold an outright delusion from day fucking 1. Im 32 I broke out of this shit by my early 20s. I meet people much older than me every day who have not. Good, well meaning, caring people. But naive, and willing to keep believing without doing. I dont hate them but I do resent their lives

Because for most americans, thats where we see these people represented. In starwars, and marvel, and pixar. The good guys always win and the bad guy could never succeed. In our sheltered bubble where its all always going to work out, and the bad guy at least gets punished.

These people arent lying to themselves, theyre trying to defend the dignity of being human. "Surely the president wouldnt attack another nation unless he had moral reasoning, he's a human too afterall!" They think to themselves. "Villains who would do that for money are only in movies!" They surmise

No one who has the choice to be sheltered from the truth WANTS to accept that life is hell for uncounted millions of people, ON PURPOSE. In truth the human mind cant really comprehend it properly to begin with. It feels more sensible to believe that it was all unavoidable, that no one would DO this.

Breaking out of this worldview is depressing. There are people who maintain their ability to function at all by faith in the goodness of the people around them. The idea that the world is run by the bad guys, that greed and violence have always been the winners, that good guys do finish last. Hurts.

Its easy to see why. It absolves you from inspecting complex issues, it simplifies the world. It makes it easy to be lied to in a way that makes the world feel safer, it makes you more willing to trust your politicians, and it makes you give the benefit of the doubt to those that dont deserve it

We grow up being told that goodness innately prevails. We are taught to believe in this idea blindly and it primes us to believe that those victors who write history are good and the losers are bad. "The Good Guys Always Win" is a DEEPLY ingrained mentality of american culture.

The second person is good and hopeful but their naivete is a massive obstacle to ending the american empire, and ultimately a victim of the same society taking advantage of their human passion to believe in the goodness of others.

Understanding for how USAmerican atrocities are allowed to go on comes when you learn that there are people with genuinely evil selfish intentions that do not care what happens to other people, and there are good people who were taught to believe that evil people like that cant exist.

I dont want to work on such a beautiful day I want to go to the mall and stare at people until they get weirded out
