Proud to be a signatory to this letter. The proposals are a dangerous, authoritarian attack on individual liberty – when the proper solution is funding our courts.

I see 20mph as a benefit to people driving. Less stressful? Calmer, safer and in towns and cities no change to journey time which is controlled by the number of vehicles getting through the lights each cycle and not by the speed driven between traffic signals.

That goes without saying - just interesting that in current global context their war on motorist frame produces interesting results.

A reminder that humans in cars - notably omitted from this thanks to motonormativity - kill 1.2m people every year

👌 Perhaps they’ll also discover driving slower (55mph limits on motorways and 20mph on local roads) saves fuel?
