The six central characters of The Madness of Chartrulean stand in front of dark sci fi elements, dramatically lit and posed looking at the camera. From left to right: Admiral Lapadine, an older man with vitiligo wearing a dark blue military-style suit; Havelion, a young man wearing a flight suit with details illuminated in blue; Chartrulean, a tall man with dark beard and hair, wearing stark black and white and wearing a utility belt; Princess Sophrosyne, wearing a futuristic white dress and a concerned expression; King Starbringer, a silver-haired man with crisp gray beard and regal black robes; Chamberlain Yoba, well-groomed and wearing a crisp dark blue suit with the royal crest, smiling unlike the others.
New show art dropped today for The Madness of Chartrulean! The change is slowly taking effect across podcast platforms.
Excited to further explore the marriage between Unreal Engine and this audio-first story. Season 2 is in production.

I too go to therapy because of UE. Itβs a feature, not a bug
Thank you! I also cannot wait for it to be done.
Oh awesome! I'll check it out for sure!
Iβd never heard of it!? A google search isnβt pulling up anything though, do you have a link?
As we enter a heightened period of untruth, we must stay vigilant. The tighter we hold onto our values, the louder we speak our truth, and the more we persist, the harder it will be for fearmongering and lies to rise above us.

4.) Depictions of mental health. After the first season I was cautious about the stigmatization of mental health as part of Jinx's character, and how her writing borrowed some over-used psychopathic archetypes. This season so far has shown her as multifaceted and nuanced.
3.) Normalization of same sex relationships, and female character arcs that aren't driven solely by romantic interests. The romance we do see is in support of character arcs. The show overall has great LGBTQ+ rep, and again, writes women well.
2.) How the show depicts family dynamics, power struggles WITHIN family dynamics, and certain aspects of trauma and how it affects relationships. This is expanded into community structures and "found family" and those bound by systems of oppression.
1.) All the main characters undergo extraordinary change. The arcs are CRAZY. But all this without them sacrificing their core wants, just realizing that in act 2 the HOW they pursue their wants changes almost completely. Not twists, just really well done turns.

True. I wouldn't have a problem with it from a straight lore standpoint if it didn't read as much as a populist convenience to maintain a throughline to the Dune films.
Would love to be added!
The films are beautiful and have lots of technical strengths, but they left a lot of the bookβs substance out in favor of making it more appealing to new audiences. Itβs Dune minus worldbuilding. Love the books, but lukewarm on the films.
Obrigado!
