Terribly afraid I will have to wake up tomorrow and do it all over again.

Once again annoyed to report that I was exhausted and sad yesterday, so this morning I woke up, worked out, and went outside and my mood improved substantially.

Our local movie theater is doing a Catherine O’Hara film series and they’re showing episodes of Schitts Creek before the movie in place of previews. Could not love this more if I tried. Tonight is Best in Show.

I’d say this is camp & kitsch more than curséd. I love it, but I also had a room in my house decorated with coke mirrors in 2003.

Money saving tip: move to a condo that is so hard to find and you get so anxious every time a delivery driver doesn’t read your thorough instructions and then you have to find them lost in your condo building somewhere so you only order delivery once a year and remember all over again why you don’t.

At least once a week I think how crazy it is that I paid $200 and then a cat lady let me take home this tiny cat to live with me.

Also, living in a small town where there’s a limited number of people around my age (but all are mostly cool and creative types) made it easier in a way. There’s only so many of us, eventually everybody knows everybody (for better or worse).

I started going to creative/young professional meet ups here monthly. I always tell myself that I can leave any time I want if it’s not fun, but I never leave and I’ve made some great friends who are creative in their own realms. I always give myself a goal to talk to 2 new people.

Heck yeah! I’ve gotten 2 recommendations, including one that did close up magic at a friend’s birthday and I cannot wait to meet them.

Yes, inspired by Francis now I want to have a close up magician at my house warming party.

I have way too many activities in my life to pursue this, but i enjoy the heck out of watching magic.

Sometimes all you have to do is ask to be introduced to a magician.

Update: I’ve been introduced to two different magicians.

I somehow wandered into the corner of TikTok where millennials are hiring magicians for their bachelor(ette) parties, birthdays, etc. I love this for magicians.

Once someone asked me if I knew where to take ballroom dance lessons. I gave them my suggestion and asked, “why did you ask me, I dont ballroom dance” and they said the same exact thing, “it seems like a thing you would know”

New personal goal for 2026: befriend a local magician

I was asked if I had a recommendation for a magician in Palm Springs, and now I’m disappointed in myself for not personally knowing a magician in my town.

If either of them grows opposable thumbs and learns how to dance it’s so over for me.
