Oh yeah. It's bad.
What do you think is driving the swing back, sir?
Real talk.
Anti-bigotry Movements don't get passes on having sloppy rhetoric and bad advocacy and activist tactics.
Being right is not enough. You have to be able to convince people that you are right and not drive off allies.
Y'all...America got so close to class consciousness....and decided to spiral into multilateral gutter bigotry instead.
I don't think advocating against civil rights is going to go over well in the presidential primary, hoss.
This is the realest talk.
Engaging in bigotry because you're angry at bigotry is still bigotry.
Real talk.
In February, I got to sit down with Toby Buckle for a conversation about bigotry and why any compromise with bigots is a step towards bigotry.
Check it out!
I think something that's a lot of politicos and pundits are forgetting is that Texas is a majority minority state and no one is asking how much the kavanaugh stops have changed how folks view politics.
I don't think Talarico is going to adopt your position on Transgender civil rights and disparate impact analysis for theological and moral reasons, dude.
The Crockett endorsement is huge here.
This is out in the open on the other site and it is why Crockett's quick endorsement of Talarico is huge.
No one, regardless of party, can win Texas without a strong multicultural coalition.
Does Talarico have the juice? The country will find out in November.
I find it's startling how acrimonious this entire primary became a long racial lines.
I do not believe that, but there are a lot of folks out there who are trying to make that claim.
Talarico is going to have to battle that.
I think Crockett's endorsement is going to chill a lot of that out.
I don't think it's Petty to refuse to be in a coalition with people who don't like you.
It's on Talarico to bridge the divide and I'm really curious how his religious left politics will engage.
Also, Crockett endorsed him.
I understand the claim but I think you have to understand that folks who do not check the boxes for the baseline may have an issue with that and may hold it against the party that tries to tell them how this is reality.
The commentary is being heard by Black voters as saying Black candidates cannot win.
Undoing that damage to the coalition is something Talarico will have to navigate.
I think the biggest hurdle that Talarico may face, if the demographics of the election are what folks think they will be, is having to navigate the damage done by the racially coded discourse around electability and however his coalition decides to engage with skeptical black voters.
How bad is not good at all do you think?
Big question: how did Talarico do with Black voters?
Do you think that Talarico's religious left vibe is doing a lot of lifting for him tonight?
That seems like a huge gamble on intense turnout in those areas.
Did Crockett mostly concentrate her efforts in Dallas and Houston ?
I think y'all need to have the debate on race in America that is the actual source of y'all's intellectual beef and be done with it.
I think people are going to have to get serious about multiculturalism and what being committed to it looks like culturally and politically.
I think one of the most dodged and under investigated political stories in America Is how angry Black America is with the Democratic party and the left going back to November 2024.
I think this entire thing goes back to how 2024 played out demographically and how quickly moderates and leftists blamed "wokeness" for Harris losing.
I don't think a lot of pundits realize how absolutely angry Black America is with the Democratic party and the left.
The Warnock football ad was great
Of course, the same question Is relevant for if Crockett wins.
Will Talarico's people show up for her?
My prior for all of this is that the Democrats/left base has balkanized because of the 2024 election and folks have been ignoring it.
Texas will reveal a lot.
