The Dynamic Inner Disk of a Planet Forming Star
Planets are a natural byproduct of the stellar formation process, resulting from local aggregations of material within the disks surrounding young stars. Whereas signatures of gas-giant planets at lar...
An amazing result out of Ben Setterholmβs PhD thesis hit the arxiv. Using sub-au imaging of the inner disk of HD163296 using CHARA, Ben found a hot spot at the dust destruction wall orbiting 2x slower than expected, possibly shepherded by an unseen giant planet.
