Federal agents handcuff and detain New York City mayoral candidate Brad Lander was taken into custody at an immigration court in Lower Manhattan.

Zohran Mamdani, who recently cross-endorsed with Lander, called for the comptroller’s immediate release. “This is fascism and all New Yorkers must speak in one voice,” said Mamdani.

Trump immigration raids snag U.S. citizens, including Native Americans, raising racial profiling fears A U.S. veteran and Navajo residents have been asked for identification. Critics are complaining of racial profiling as raids and deportations increase.

The administration is not targeting immigrants with violent records. They're targeting the immigrants who are easiest to get: those who show to court and follow the rules. It's a great way to ensure that undocumented people stop coming to court.

They're also already ensnaring U.S. citizens.
