Menu from Morning Glory Diner with dishes named after political resistance sentiments

Sign in window saying "no kings, no ice, no fear. Immigrants are welcome here"
Morning Glory Diner is my favorite breakfast spot in Philly.
Seven octopus toys shaped like an orange cat, a radish, a carrot, a pear, and octopuses on hanging loops in red, orange, and yellow, against a backdrop of orange and yellow yarns.
Never forget your roots.
We need journalism.
Five octopus toys in trans pride colors, blue, pink, and purple on a carved wooden book holder
Thank you, truly. I've been self-conscious because I'm not very good at drawing.
Aquarelle drawing of a frowning octopus with black curls, a blue scarf, and purple tentacles with black suckers. Each tentacle holds a card saying "WRONG"
Hee. Twelve years ago, I drew this Sherlocktopus for @shansauro.bsky.social.
There was nothing wrong with Target's fun, style, products, or prices. I'll shop there again when they restore DEI initiatives. They could direct their billions of dollars there. Just saying.
Blueberry earring on middle-aged Korean woman wearing green blouse
Carefully safeguarding my mental equilibrium in the face of current events. Today's MVP: blueberry earrings.
The subset of socks with toes
"Too much"? Oh dear.
Is this thought inspired by Bridgerton or independent of it?
entirely unimprovable execution by the @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social social team
This looks a bit like leadership.
BREAKING
Charles Kushner, the US Ambassador to France, has been banned from meeting with members of the French government after he failed to show up to a diplomatic summons with the French Foreign Minister.
Alysa Liu: "THAT'S WHAT I'M FUCKING TALKING ABOUT" π£οΈ
Yes, you are β€οΈ
This is the first time I've been interested in any news about the British royal family since maybe ever. ~serene smile~
Between this, the life sentence for former Korean president Yoon, and the nomination of Korean protesters for the Nobel Peace Prize, I'm enjoying the morning. Happy accountability day!
Four octopus toys shaped like carrots
"Can we withstand the tension of watching the women's figure skating today?"
"We can. We're carrots. We can withstand anything."
Octopus toys in trans pride colors or shaped like a white cat, a carrot, and a gray octo with teal flower ornament, sitting atop a Danish butter cookie tin
Are you done with those cookies? Can we have the tin now? Thank you.
I propose to make universal the old policy of the Blackfriars conference at the American Shakespeare Center:
If you do not end your paper on time, you will be forced to exit, pursued by a bear. Literally, a bear will come take your paper from you.
I should find and give away my old Silver Stars. Okay, I'll challenge myself to do that this season.
I'm still trying to put my brains back into my head, but I get stuck on how fitting it is that Urmanov is a main character in this plot twist. And then the thought of the upcoming ISU Congress just made me groan aloud. FS truly is my ex. Will always love, will never get back together.π

My child.
WHOA. Today I learned:

Three octopus toys in pumpkin spice colors with a thimble showing Independence Hall and the original U.S. flag
I needed a thimble, but didn't expect to find one at the gift shop of the Betsy Ross House! How fitting! And fun.
Ooh! I'm so with you on these (although I think I was 14 for 1984). I reread the Scarlet Letter in my 50s and found, to my surprise, that it was riveting. A page-turner. Maybe kids shouldn't be burdened with it!
Zero desire to reread Wuthering Heights. Like witnessing a bad family therapy session.
There definitely are skaters who have stopped doing them after hurting themselves, even though in most ways they are easier than the stuff they do for points.
Not at all silly. I wasn't following closely, but I think the gist was that the rest of the sport has gotten relatively more dangerous (quads, pair lifts). However, if it's true that Deanna Stellato-Dudek (42yo pair skater!) injured herself practicing a backflip, maybe they'll re-ban.
Four octopus toys shaped like pears, a radish, and a white cat
New rule: anyone trying to claim the ISU backflip ban was a racist conspiracy has to name 3 skaters penalized for doing it
Or two pieces of music Surya Bonaly skated to
Or at least donate to Diversify Ice or Figure Skating in Harlem
