School in the Crosshairs is great and it's genuinely depressing that it's not as well regarded or even really recognized as much as House

I tried to log into my Towelket account on Youtube but apparently it seems I have been deemed a baby while I was away. I can't even view my own videos, idk if uploading is still an option. Painful, painfulllll
omg Warawau is confirmed for the newest game. I'm sosososososo glad. It's been a long time since she's appeared in a new game. It's been e-eight years? π¨

I definitely feel like if Kanao really wanted to, they easily could have done so much more with this but instead we don't even get the bare minimum of all the original content intact. It's so low effort I can't help but wonder why they even bothered
wow gifs finally work on here
this was fun to play with
ugly mouse jumpscare
Ya, unfortunately there is just very little to recommend this over just playing the original again

I can only hope for the best but my expectations are seriously in the ground right now. If this upcoming game ends up going through the same hell then I'll seriously have to consider taking a break from following these games until the remake disease is cured
They rushed what was an incredibly promising game for the sake of these remakes. The newest game looks interesting and I really like the visual style of it. But before it was even properly announced, Kanao already mentioned having plans to remake Nekoashi Otome afterwards.
These remakes are seriously terrible and I'm not sure why Kanao insists of making them when they're clearly putting as little effort into them as possible. It would be one thing if they were perhaps just uninspired and doing whatever in the meantime but as I've agonized over before-
Also for those wondering, no there is no translation of this remake. This is just an machine translation. Whoops
The boss fight at the end is so insane and tone death that its almost hilarious.
Not a good remake 0/5 Towels. Minimal effort. I couldn't be bothered to make a proper thing on my Neocities about this because I just didn't care enough.
Unreasonable Camp died for this btw.
The dialogue does seem to be rewritten however it absolutely does not reflect Kanao's improvement as a writer. Rather, it seems to be rewritten from memory so a lot of subtle details were left out.
Nothing is expanded upon, no talking points or anything. Lots of missing stuff though.
and the notes from her lab are missing for some reason.
There are some extra optional bosses however they don't really add to anything. Most won't have any dialogue and as I said the combat just consists of clicking the auto button as fast as possible.
Mitsue gets a bit more dialogue though I'm gonna be honest she's sort of reduced to a gag character here too. Instead of saying silent in the later game she's saying something along the lines of "Omg wtf there's aliens? I must still be on drugs".
Agochu I'm pretty sure has slightly less dialogue-
There is actually one bit of actually new content in this remake. It's a stealth section with Cow-chan sneaking through military occupation. Apparently this was something scrapped from the original game. It's pretty straight forward, nothing we haven't seen in the series before.
For any silver lining about this remake uhhhh...
The remake's introduction scene is kind of cute. The actual character sprites look nice and we did end up getting new portraits after all. And they reflect the clothing changes these characters go through. So that's a nice touch.
too busy fucking around to actually get anything done.
As I said with the comedic tone, Lovelips are made to be less intimidating personality-wise. There's another random wacky gag going on with them when we first meet them.
Also in the establishment the girls are like "eh its not that bad"
something funny is being said right now.
The Towelket 3 reference areas are technically still intact. It's just that some details were altered to remove the connections from TK3. One which includes are weird implication that the Pons could have actually done something about all this but were-
The remake tries to go for a more silly tone overall but it just feels out of place and awkward most of the time. There is this weird visual gag that happens right up until *that* scene.
At some point the game sort of gives up and starts playing a funny sound effect to let the player know that-
don't say anything related to what's going on.
A lot of NPCs are missing dialogue entirely.
(video below isn't from my actual playthrough, just stuck myself here in RPGmaker for the sake of example)
no human NPCs at all to comment on what has happened since then. That includes the protag and PPU's moms. You can't enter any buildings because Cow-chan says people would freak out if they saw a bipedal cow (she was already bipedal before)
Instead there are random talking animal characters that-
rushed vibe to it as the game suddenly starts randomly cutting to scenes with no transitions or anything. It's pretty bizarre.
A certain character's death (iykyk) goes completely unacknowledged by the cast and even the game itself.
After the timeskip, when you return back to your town there are-
For some reason a decent amount of stuff involving PPU was removed as well. Both in the Establishment and the subway station, the parts where you briefly play as her were cut.
The entire ending sequence was shortened. Dialogue is shorter. The more surreal maps were made smaller. Theres an overall-
