Sable Baggyshore Corporation $SOC saga continues. Judge orders communications between the corrupt Trump admin and company executives.

Even little Marco has been a disaster. Yeah but prior to being the state secretary, everyone thought he was the most qualified amongst the bunch.
😂
While everyone's concentrated on the Strait of Hormuz, it is really the Peru Central Bank that's really pulling the strings behind the scenes.
"What if they're aware of these abuses of ToS"
I'm not sure. The phone company must also guess that some people are using their lines for crime - does that make them duty-bound to stop those crimes?
Millions (billions?) of people use FB/Insta. Do we want Zuckerberg to police every interaction?
<<“I pray for your comfort,” [plaintiff attorney] Lanier, whose other profession is as a pastor, closed his eyes and said, standing in the circle of parents, holding each other’s hands and nodding vigorously.>>
My dude has to ponder on the problem of evil.
If the sextorter did that over the phone, would the phone company be responsible? What is unique about social media networks?
Regardless, the best policy may be to restrict social media to only people over 16-18. I think Australia passed a similar law recently.
So many sad stories but I'm not sure Meta and Zuckerberg are to blame.
If a predator sextorts ("blackmail where someone threatens to release intimate images") a teenager over Facebook/Instagram and the teenager commits suicide, isn't the sextorter the primary culprit?
<<In aggregate, the researchers find that eliminating the Jones Act would have benefited US consumers by $769 million per year and reduced US fuel suppliers’ profits by $367 million per year.>>
This net benefit is only regarding fuel shipping. Other stuff can be shipped too.
AFAICT, the East Coast instead of importing internationally in the absence of the Jones Act buys its oil from the Gulf Coast - according to the scenario in the paper.
As a result, the new demand drives the Gulf Coast costs higher.
H/t @anadarkocapital.bsky.social for the pointer.
Not sure why Gulf Coast sees an increase. I should check out the paper.
The Jones Act makes as much sense as forcing Amazon delivery trucks to be American-made.
<<Eliminating the Jones Act would have reduced average East Coast gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel prices by $0.63, $0.80, and $0.82 per barrel, respectively, during 2018–2019… The Gulf Coast gasoline price would increase by $0.30 per barrel.>>
Thank you for the pointer.
At least the dude was asking whether it can be a solution.
Ding dongs like Chamath would proudly proclaim to have solved the issue.
Is he turning into a zombie? The rash on the neck seems to be getting worse.
ICC arrest warrant for Hegseth please? Though Iran may not be a signatory to the relevant convention:

From BBC: “As we reported earlier, a UK maritime monitor said a suspected unknown projectile struck a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, starting a fire and forcing the crew to evacuate.”
of course this song by Kanye West was banned everywhere except X.

This is Iranians blowing up a tanker, I am assuming?
Who doesn’t want to attack California with drones? I bet if you polled the residents of sh*thole states like Alabama, Louisiana or ex-confederacy ones, 80% would want to attack California with drones purely out of jealousy.
And California will sue.
But I am holding the bag here.
$SOC baggies were saved by the bell/war.
“Abolitionist but Haitian slaves”
“Anti-racist but Chinese people”
What would be the point of such a guarantee? How would it be enforced? Who would enforce it?
Nooo, this is Trump’s plan to undo the Jones Act in a roundabout way.
Muskings are blending.

I just got something called Dark Chocolate covered corn kernels from Trader Joe’s. Despite its vegan ingredient list, it was as degenerate as any other sh*t food.
American capitalism wins once again.
