I would ask the same about Malfurion regarding Harandar but.. I've kinda just been shifting my attitude toward taking the whole Harandar story for what it is to enjoy it, and that requires taking it out of context for now.. until the game world can catch up and potential holes and connections fixed.
I have only one question left for Midnight. (Still not done even with the leveling quests so bear with me.. it might be a thing but I have seen no indication for it anywhere yet.)
The Amani are The highlight for me for sure.

Midnight has been doing a really great job at dealing with small things like this, but this one.. and to be fair Harandar as a whole with the roots, especially Shaladrassil.. has been strange to say the least. This was the worst part of the main story so far but fixable. The devil is in the details.

Aln dust should just basically be Azerite residue. But, if it's not, which is entirely possible to explain away, it should be dealt with. Is Azerite Aln-infused rock but from this pure Aln dust can't be extracted by known means to be used to ward against any cosmic corruption & grant free will?

I'm very surprised it's connection to Azerite is not being dealt with in the story, not even by a small optional dialogue (so far from what I've encountered). That is very strange to me and I wish they did not forget these kinds of old threads..

Well I guess it has the dream swirlies that make it somewhat unique—but mostly just recognizable, not unique. I believe this is a huge missed opportunity..
Also, Shaladrassil being barely corrupted but now being taken over by Light is very interesting.. I'd love to see it represented overworld too.

I'm actually quite sad to see no allusion made to Ardenweald on the roots of Amirdrassil. The tree is absolutely beautiful and it looks like a proper Azerothian world tree but infused with the souls of the victims of Teldrassil's burning. I would've loved to see the roots represent it too! #Warcraft

Most Hero Talent trees neither provide enough fantasy (this isn't really the "Class Skins" concept we've been yearning for—not by a long shot) nor is it often enough of a gameplay addition, more like a thing that's there for the sake of being there..some better than others. It could be so much more!
Expanding on that last thought further, Hero Talents are so underutilized right now. I think it could be wilder, much deeper. If we could optionally turn a DPS into Talk via Hero Talents, MB & Survival that'd be SO COOL!
Season of Mastery sounded so cool because of wild fun things like these.
I think Survival should be a Tank. A Pet Tank, like how Rexxar actually is, like in Heroes of the Storm. That sounds like such a cool concept it'd be worth it to explore, just like how Augmentation was worth to do, regardless of popularity. Most of this playstyle could be worked into Beast Mastery. Or, a separate spec renamed to Pathfinder, focusing on traps more, which I think would be a core survivalist living off the land fantasy.
I think it'd be worth exploring a pet tank spec as Survival Hunter. I feel like this spec is always changing it's so hard to nail down it's core fantasy and gameplay. No wonder.

Huh, if you go to Silvermoon below level 80 in Midnight, you can get a version of Quel'thalas that has no Voidstorm. Makes for a totally different vibe with the bright skybox.
They could even inject some extra story bits in there to "fix" it. The Infinite Flight revisiting could help us uncover the actual Jailer behind the Jailer*.. That would be SUCH a cool thing to do! @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com

What a captivating character they managed to build out of the simple "paper-like" light vs void child concept. He's a whole person who had to struggle with finding himself, by having to learn that he is not LESS anywhere he may want to fit in, he must own himself WHOLE.
I will be watching closely.

Whelp, my char got stuck dead in the instance (member in combat bug) even after everyone left and I clicked on leave instance group. Stuck dead, no tp out. Had to use unstuck and got my loot in mail. Whelp.. got my pity reward for the bug:

But again, it may have just been (most probably was) the fact that I played the crap out of BfA and there was nothing much on my plate. I even got Mecha-done and everything so mentally I could focus on what's next.

Funny though because I actually did like Shadowlands' prepatch a lot more. I liked the little story of the cult, the Mawsworn's involvement and the buttloads of people trying to follow the scedule and waiting for the rares that felt meaningful when spawned. It WAS frustrating though..
Maybe it's just simply the fact that I couldn't probably keep up with TWW.
Same with Dragonflight, I haven't even remotely finished Thaldraszus quests for instance, Hallowfall so happened to be the one I touched the least in TWW and I want to finish everything before moving on. Now there isn't time
Twilight's Blade is gonna be a thing and it's setting up that but it's in a "random zone" with very little story involvement. Very little conspiracy investigation, very little stakes, not much hype. Maybe if it was a "whackamole" across many different zones? Not sure.. having it in TH is convenient.
But those are hard to place in time, these animations could've come out a month or two before the launch but prepatch should be the exciting weeks before the launch that really build that momentum *in game*. I don't really feel that. Maybe because it's not really connected to anything meaningful..
Well, it's not bad definitely but it doesn't really pull me in either. I don't know how to articulate it other than describing what I feel or what I don't feel. And I don't feel much excitement or interest whatsoever from it. The story slowly starting up via the promo cinematics does work however.
